Ninety-six campsites renting mobile homes are listed on the portal, 65 of them with verified off-season opening. Occitanie has 27, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 15, then Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur 8 and Hauts-de-France 7. The mobile home is the most common rental accommodation, but also the most sensitive to cold: everything depends on the heating type, the insulation and the rental dates, which do not always follow those of the pitches.
At Hooghe Moote, in Ghyvelde in the Nord, the mobile homes are fitted with heating and rented in the low season, from 1 November to 31 March. At Le Fromentel, in Gommegnies, the 40 m² models have heat pumps, but the site does not mention heating for the smaller ones. Las Closas, in Err in the Pyrénées-Orientales, heats every room, but from November to April opens only at weekends and during school holidays. Reversible air conditioning serves as heating at Le Cap Blanc in Leucate, at Les 3 Pucelles in Seyssins and at Le Clos des Tourterelles. At Les Vieux Chênes, in Chaillac, heating is optional from 1 November to 31 March.
At Les Deux Bois, in Baratier, the TAOS mobile homes are heated and rented in every season, with the Les Orres slopes 20 minutes away. Le Bois de Cornage in Vizille keeps its mobile homes open all year, close to the resorts of Chamrousse, L’Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes. Le Marintan, in Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, also rents its mobile homes in winter, seven minutes from the Orelle cable car.
Several campsites rent mainly in the school season: Au Petit Port de l’Houmeau and Les Rulières offer long-term rentals from September to April. Marina Plage in Vitrolles takes bookings for its 340 air-conditioned mobile homes from 1 January to 31 December.
At Salverte (Eure), the pitches are open all year, but the mobile homes are rented from 15 April to 30 September. La Brise de Camargue closes from 14 November to 17 December, then from about 4 January to 5 February in 2026, and So de Prous in Saligos from about 12 November to 19 December. Sixteen campsites on this page are seasonal, and fifteen state off-season opening that we have not confirmed.

In the Hautes-Alpes, Les Deux Bois are 20 minutes from Les Orres and 30 from Crévoux, with the Embrun market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Le Bois de Cornage is 1 km from the Château de Vizille and the Museum of the French Revolution. At Les 3 Pucelles, Grenoble offers the Polesud ice rink, museums and indoor play parks.
On the coast, Le Cap Blanc gives access to kitesurfing and windsurfing on the Leucate peninsula, and to visits to Carcassonne and the Sigean African reserve. Near Dunkirk, Hooghe Moote is close to Bray-Dunes, Bergues and the neighbouring farm inn, which announces a Valentine’s menu and a Christmas meal.
In Avignon, where Bagatelle is, the festivals are not limited to summer: Cheval Passion in January, Les Hivernales in February and the Fêtes du vin in November.
