Overview

Le Champ d’été is a campsite with 140 pitches on Rue du Plan d’Eau in Reyssouze, near Pont-de-Vaux in the Ain département. It sits beside a pond, right by the A6 motorway exit: Mâcon is about half an hour away and Lyon about 1 hour 20 minutes. It is part of the Onlycamp campsite network. The pitches are spacious and shaded, and each guest chooses the one they prefer on arrival.

As for accommodation, the site offers wooden chalets for 5 to 7 people with a covered terrace, a mobile home adapted for guests with reduced mobility and a furnished tent for 4 people. A 231 m² group house can sleep up to 30 people in ten bedrooms. There is no wifi on the campsite, and dogs are accepted on a lead, with an up-to-date vaccination record.

Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. For 2026, the campsite and its accommodation are announced from 27 March to 1 November. Only the group house stays open a little longer, until 3 January 2027. The campsite is therefore closed from November to mid-March, and no winter offer is published. The website does, however, offer a benefits card for off-season stays.

Two washroom blocks offer hot showers, toilets, washbasins, dishwashing areas, a baby area and an area adapted for guests with reduced mobility. A motorhome service area and a waste disposal point are available inside the campsite, as well as a laundry. Most pitches have an optional electrical hook-up; a European adapter is needed.

At reception there is a small shop selling local products, ice creams, coffee and drinks, as well as fishing permits. Bread and pastries must be ordered the day before in high season. A snack bar by the pool is open in July and August from 12pm to 7pm.

The campsite has no pool of its own, but guests get free access to the neighbouring municipal pool, Archipel, with indoor and outdoor pools, slides, a paddling pool and water games. Off-season, the indoor pool is open Monday to Friday; in July and August both pools run every day.

🥾Hiking

On site, the neighbouring pond is good for fishing, a playground and a sports field keep children busy, and a pétanque court awaits players. Equipment for toddlers is lent on request, and walks or bike rides start right from the campsite, over flat terrain.

Around the campsite, Pont-de-Vaux is a pleasant place to stroll: marina, old lanes, half-timbered Bresse houses, the church of Saint-Denis and the Baltard hall, which hosts a producers’ market on Wednesday mornings (Bresse chicken, snails, honey, local wines). A canal cruise leaves from the marina. The Voie Bleue, a cycle path that follows the Saône, passes about 6 km from the campsite. Cluny Abbey, founded in 910, can be visited about 30 km away, with a guided tour available and free entry for under-18s, and the Mâconnais region offers castles, the Rock of Solutré and the Azé caves for day trips.
