Camping de la Trye is on Rue de Trye in Bresles, in the Oise, a stone’s throw from Beauvais and about an hour from Paris. The green, peaceful estate brings together three ways to stay under one roof: traditional camping on large pitches, a mobile home or chalet, and a wide choice of unusual accommodation.
Pitches average more than 100 m², with Premium versions that have private washrooms. The rental fleet includes mobile homes (Mitoyen, Access, Confort), a green chalet, luxury lodges, safari tents on stilts, a tiny house, bungalows, tipis, coco sweets and Perles des Marais. Several of these have a private spa or jacuzzi on the terrace.
The campsite is open all year round. Outside high season, mobile homes, chalets and unusual accommodation can be booked from one night; in July and August, several models are only rented by the week. In winter, several units are heated by a heat pump, and the indoor pool stays at 27 °C, open during the school holidays even in winter.
In the low season, the snack bar only opens in the evening, sometimes at weekends; the village has two restaurants, L’Instant T and Le Castello.
Heated indoor pool during the school holidays, private spa on the terrace of the unusual accommodation, raclette evenings in winter in the safari tents.
The centrepiece is the covered pool, heated to 28 °C, which drops to 27 °C in winter. It is open from around 10am to 7pm, with hours varying by season. A double slide is available in summer. There is no lifeguard: children remain under the supervision of the adults accompanying them. The campsite also advertises an indoor spa.
The unusual accommodation has a private spa on the terrace, with unlimited access, maintained every morning by the team. The luxury lodges provide a hot drinks kit, made-up beds and towels, and the end-of-stay cleaning is taken care of. In winter, a raclette package ready on arrival is offered in the safari tents, at €40 for two people.
For the other accommodation, sheets and towels can be hired (€8 per single bed, €5 per towel). Two communal charcoal barbecues are provided, and personal barbecues are not allowed on the pitches. The washrooms, suitable for people with reduced mobility, have hot showers. Dogs are accepted for €3 per night, except category 1 and 2 dogs, and may not go near the pool. Payment by card, bank transfer, cash and ANCV holiday vouchers.
The estate offers cycling and mountain biking, karting, pony or donkey rides, canoeing and no-kill carp fishing. This programme suits families and groups of friends alike, and the outdoor activities can be combined with hikes in the surrounding area.
The surroundings are full of interest. Beauvais, about fifteen kilometres away, is home to Saint-Pierre Cathedral, whose Gothic choir is the tallest in the world, and the MUDO, the Oise museum housed in the former palace of the bishop-counts, about 13 km from Bresles. The Pottery Museum in Lachapelle-aux-Pots completes the list of visits in the region.
Out of season, the programme refocuses on the campsite itself: swimming in the indoor pool during the school holidays, relaxing in the private spa, raclette evenings in the safari tents, and bike rides around Bresles. A postponed stay is possible in the safari tents if temperatures fall below -6 °C.
