Twenty-five campsites with a water slide are listed on the portal, 13 of them with verified off-season opening. A water slide is a summer facility: it goes with an outdoor pool open from May to September, sometimes from April. Of the 13 verified campsites, none announces a slide in operation in winter. Their year-round opening concerns the rental accommodation, the pitches or the motorhome area, and sliding should be planned for fine weather or the spring holidays.
In Occitanie, the Domaine de Sainte Véziane in Bessan stays open all year, but its 2,000 m² water area, with slides and two pentaglisses, opens from 1 May to the end of September. The Mas des Lavandes in Sérignan, open all year, heats a 2,300 m² water park whose dates are not published. At the Berges du Gers, in Masseube, the rental accommodation stays open all year, but the pool with the slide is a summer facility. At Les Violettes, in Deyme, the children’s slide pool is reserved for guests, with no published dates. At the Chalets du Lac in Belcaire, the slide follows the outdoor pool from June to September; only the covered pool is used in winter. In Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, La Montagne in Sorgues opens its two slides from late April to mid-September, while reception, the shop and the heated washrooms operate the rest of the year. La Brise de Camargue, in Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, opens from 6 February to 13 November and then from 18 December to 3 January, with a spiral slide with five bends.
In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Au Petit Port de L’Houmeau, open all year near La Rochelle, opens its two slides with the pool, from April to the end of September. In the Vienne, Le Futuriste reserves its outdoor pool with a slide for July and August, while its covered pool, heated to 30 °C, is open from 1 April to 1 November. In the Vendée, Villa Campista, with heated rental accommodation open 365 days a year, opens its double-lane slide from May to September. In the Drôme, Le Bois des Roches opens its pool with a slide from 15 April to the end of September. In the Moselle, La Tour du Stock reserves its slide for the summer school holidays, while its covered wellness centre is open all year.
Ask for the exact dates of the slide pool, the minimum age (7 and able to swim at La Montagne in Sorgues) and the opening hours. Eight campsites in this selection close for several months, and four declare unconfirmed off-season opening, including Le Ragis, which announces a covered pool and slides with no published dates.
For children who love slides, aim for the spring and autumn school holidays rather than winter. The Mas des Lavandes runs a kids’ club and a Halloween programme at Easter and All Saints, a 15-minute walk from the beach at Valras-Plage, with cycle paths to the Orb and the Canal du Midi. In Sorgues, you can alternate between wine cellars, Provençal markets and cycling routes.
When the pool is closed, the play area takes over: Villa Campista keeps tennis, table tennis, a 12-lane pétanque court and a play area with slides open all year, and Les Violettes a multisport court, a fitness circuit and a trampoline, with the Canal du Midi 800 m away and Toulouse 15 minutes away. At the Berges du Gers, you can walk to the Île d’Ager. Around L’Houmeau, La Rochelle and the Île de Ré can be visited by bike.
At Christmas, La Brise de Camargue opens from 18 December to 3 January, with beach access by badge from 8am to 8pm outside the season.
