Camping Deth-Potz is in Boô-Silhen in the Hautes-Pyrénées, on the route de Silhen, close to Argelès-Gazost. Rated 2 stars, it covers about 4 hectares and has around a hundred pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, along with several types of rental accommodation.
The pitches average 80 m², some on terraces, others partly shaded, on gently sloping ground. For accommodation, the campsite rents mobile homes for 4 to 7 people, a “wellness” mobile home for 6 people with a wood-fired Nordic bath, an attic apartment for 6 people and Coco Sweet tents for 2 or 4 people, the latter without running water. The place presents itself as simple and family-friendly, with a small educational farm.
Opening period: the website says “almost all year round” but publishes specific closures. The campsite is closed from 1 October to 15 December, which is two and a half months, and from 23 to 28 March in 2026. Rental and pitch rates are shown for winter, from mid-December; the details of the welcome in the cold season remain to be confirmed with the campsite before booking.
The snack bar, which also serves as a grocery and souvenir shop, is open only from mid-July to mid-August.
The campsite runs as a small family-owned site. Reception is open from 9:30am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm in the off-season, and from 8:30am to 12:30pm then 2pm to 8pm from 1 July to 31 August. Most pitches have an electrical hook-up, and tokens are available for the washing machine and dryer, along with a motorhome service point and the loan of small equipment such as a high chair or travel cot.
A swimming pool is available to guests; the website does not give its opening dates, which should be checked with the campsite depending on when you stay. The “Chez Elo” snack bar, which also acts as a grocery and souvenir shop, operates only from mid-July to mid-August. Outside that period, it is best to bring your own supplies. The rental accommodation is equipped with crockery, a fridge, a microwave and a hob, and bed linen and towels are provided in the apartment and the wellness mobile home.
On site, the campsite provides two play areas, two table tennis tables, a petanque court, a football pitch, a volleyball court and a twelve-hole minigolf course laid out on a small hill, all free of charge. An inflatable play structure is added in summer. Guests bring their own rackets, balls and boules, and use of the facilities costs nothing. The green, tree-lined grounds are also well suited to relaxing outdoors.
The mini farm is one of the highlights for family stays: chickens, quails, ducks, rabbits, Pyrenean goats, Ouessant sheep, ponies, cows and a llama share the grounds, depending on the time of year. In summer, activities let children feed the animals and watch the milking.
In the surrounding area, the website’s banners point to the major sights of the Hautes-Pyrénées, including the Cirque de Gavarnie, and to group activities in summer. As the campsite is closed from October to mid-December, these outings take place mainly from mid-December to the end of September.
Open from 15 December to 30 September; closed from 1 October to 15 December and from 23 to 28 March 2026. Off-season opening to be confirmed with the campsite.
