Off-season opening not confirmed: check the opening dates with the campsite before booking.
Le Vercors campsite occupies a 2.3-hectare terraced park in Autrans, in the Vercors Regional Nature Park, at 1,050 m altitude and a short walk from the village. Rated 3 stars, it presents itself as a family-friendly nature campsite, committed to an eco-responsible approach and holding the “Partners Inspiration Vercors” label since September 2023. The pitches, shaded or sunny, offer views of the mountains.
The offer comprises 68 pitches, with 19 mobile homes of one to three bedrooms, a two-bedroom chalet, two wooden cabins and pitches for tents, caravans, vans and motorhomes. The village of Autrans, renowned for Nordic skiing, is a few minutes’ walk away.
Opening period: the campsite runs two distinct seasons and closes between them. Summer 2026: from May 7 to September 27. Winter 2026-2027: from December 23, 2026 to March 7, 2027, with a closure from January 4 to 13, 2027. It therefore remains closed from September 28 to December 22, nearly three months, and then from March 8 to May 6. For a winter stay, arrivals are possible every day, with a two-night minimum (three during school holidays).
The managers also state that the most energy-hungry accommodation is shut down in winter: not all rental units are therefore available during this season. Availability should be confirmed with the campsite before booking.
The campsite provides free wifi, a laundry with washing machines and dryers, a motorhome service area free for guests and a maintenance workshop for bikes, mountain bikes and skis, with a waxing bench for winter. Reception lends board games, books, sports equipment and compost buckets free of charge, and gives advice on hikes. Some items can be rented for an extra charge: bed linen, raclette or fondue sets, high chair, baby cot, fridge from three nights.
The covered, heated pool is advertised for the summer season. The bar opens in summer, from early July, with light evening food except on Sundays and Tuesdays; breakfasts are served from May to September, and bread and pastries can be ordered the day before in summer. In winter, you need to rely on the shops in Autrans, two minutes’ walk below: bakery, local grocery, convenience store, pharmacy.
On site, a freely accessible games room offers ping-pong, table football, air hockey and arcade games; a pétanque court, a green space for football and volleyball and a play area for children up to 8 years old complete the picture. A kids’ club for ages 6 to 12 takes place in the morning in July and August. In summer, the campsite lends a rosalie (pedal car) and a child trailer free of charge for riding along the ViaVercors.
Around Autrans, you can go hiking, trail running, Nordic walking, mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, caving, tree-top adventure and rail luge. In winter, the village is a Nordic skiing hotspot, and walks in the woods remain possible when snow is lacking.
The Vercors can also be discovered through its farms, where you can taste local cheeses, meats and ice creams, and through its heritage: stronghold of the Resistance during the Second World War, prehistoric and medieval sites, picturesque villages, farming traditions and local crafts. These visits can be prepared with the tourist information available at reception.
Summer: from May 7 to September 27, 2026. Winter: from December 23, 2026 to March 7, 2027, closed from January 4 to 13, 2027. Closed from late September to late December and from March to early May.
