Camping des Deux Moulins is at 11 rue du Camping in Bourg-des-Comptes, a commune in Ille-et-Vilaine south of Rennes, in the Vallons de Bretagne area. The pitches closest to the river are not far from the banks of the Vilaine, and the site holds the Home Vélo label, making it a stopover designed for cyclists and hikers alike.
The accommodation comes in four forms: two-bedroom mobile homes for 4 or 6 people (the Premium model), two-bedroom chalets for 4 or 5 people, a cabanétape for two people with a double bed, and open pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a service area for the latter. Rentals come fully equipped, with bed linen, television and wifi included.
Opening period: the website displays “open all year round” on its home page, and the published price list confirms this. Rentals have an off-season rate from 1 January to 27 March and from 23 October to 31 December, and pitches are rented by the night, week or month, with a specific electricity supplement for the period from 1 November to 1 May. Out of season, you can therefore stay in a rental, a tent or a motorhome.
It is a simple, quiet setting, with no water park announced, suited to a stopover on a cycling route, a nature break or a long stay by the month.
The facilities remain modest but cover the essentials of a stay. Emergency groceries, cold and hot drinks, gas and bike accessories are available, along with bread and pastries baked on site. A breakfast can be ordered for €10 per person. The snack bar “Chez Seb, Ça Frite” and the ice creams run in July and August, and the shop is announced for the season.
For comfort, the campsite provides free of charge a kitchen corner with microwave and kettle, barbecues, shelters with picnic tables, board and outdoor games, and wifi. A laundry works with tokens: €4 for the washing machine and €2 for the dryer for fifteen minutes. Motorhome users have a service area, with emptying and filling charged at €2 outside the package.
Cyclists will find a secure bike room and repair equipment. A children’s play area, a football pitch, table tennis tables, a badminton area and a pétanque court complete the picture. No pool is announced on site: swimming is at the Aquavallons aquatic centre in Guichen.
Off-season, the summer services (snack bar, ice creams, shop) are not announced; it is best to plan your own shopping or ask about conditions at reception.
The main activity is cycling. The campsite presents itself as a starting point for bike rides in the Vallons de Bretagne and hands out detailed maps of nearby routes: country lanes, the banks of the Vilaine and picturesque villages. Bike hire is mentioned in Guipry-Messac, a neighbouring commune, and the website points to the area’s hiking page for those who prefer to walk.
On the water, paddleboard and kayak hire is offered at the campsite, a way to discover the Vilaine at a leisurely pace. On site, you can play pétanque, football, badminton and table tennis, and children have a play area. In the evening, the barbecues and picnic tables encourage meals with neighbours.
For swimming in bad weather or outside the fine days, the Aquavallons aquatic centre in Guichen is the reference cited by the campsite. Rennes, Bruz, Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, Janzé, Lohéac and La Gacilly are among the towns and sites mentioned nearby, opening the way to cultural outings or city walks depending on the season.
Opening hours and occasional events are not published online: you can ask about them directly at reception before booking.
