Hortes Loisirs occupies a former wine estate in Bessan, a village in the Hérault of about 4,500 inhabitants, 800 m from the campsite. The Mediterranean is about fifteen minutes away by car, Agde and its TGV station ten minutes, Béziers and its airport a quarter of an hour, and the A9 motorway (exit 34) less than a kilometre. The estate, run by the same family for several generations, is planted with vines, laurels and centuries-old olive trees.

The site is rated 2 stars and presents itself as a mobile home residence: 36 plots of 150 to 300 m², deliberately few in number, on which residents install their own mobile home, new or second-hand in good condition. The estate is enclosed, accessible day and night by keypad and personal fob, with a caretaker who lives on site.

Opening period: the campsite states that it operates all year round, but for its residents. Plots are rented by the year (about €3,200 to €3,600 depending on size, 2023 rates published on the website) and the website offers neither mobile home rental nor nightly pitches for passing holidaymakers. On site, residents have a pétanque area and fishing. The village of Bessan has a farmers’ market on Tuesdays and Sundays, an animal park, restaurants, a riverside guinguette, an oil mill and a cooperative winery whose wines have won awards.
