Les Chalets de Ganivet are in Ribennes, in Lozère, on the heights above Lake Ganivet, between Mende and Marvejols, at the crossroads of the Aubrac, the Cévennes and the Tarn gorges. The site combines five chalets, one of them equipped for people with reduced mobility, a mobile home in the style of a solid-wood cabin, and a camping area set around the lake.
The chalets sleep up to 7 people, with an equipped kitchen, dishwasher, electric heating and a covered terrace of 17 m²; the 28.8 m² mobile home sleeps up to 5 people. Pets are allowed, one per accommodation. The landscaped lake beach with a snack bar, as well as beach volleyball and petanque courts and a playground, are on site.
Opening period: the campsite is announced from mid-June to mid-September. For the chalets and the mobile home, the 2026 rates run from March 28 to December 19, with no published rate from late December to late March. The rate sheet also mentions a heating surcharge from October 1 to April 30, without specifying the dates of any winter opening, and a long-stay offer outside July and August on request. Off-season opening, particularly in winter, therefore remains to be confirmed with the campsite on 04 66 32 34 04.
The chalets have a fitted, equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, hotplate), electric heating and garden furniture on the covered terrace. The mobile home adds a walk-in shower, a freezer and a television. Sheets (€10 a pair), towels (€10 per stay), a cot (€10 a week) and an end-of-stay cleaning package (€60) are available as options.
On the campsite, an outdoor washroom block is available; an off-season rate exists for a pitch without washrooms or water, with an electric hook-up. Holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances) are accepted. The lake beach has a snack bar, and you can rent pedal boats and canoes there. The website mentions neither a restaurant nor a shop on site.
By the lake, you can enjoy the landscaped beach, swimming, pedal boat and canoe rental, the beach volleyball, petanque and mini-football courts, and a playground with a slide, swing, climbing wall and sandpit.
The campsite lists among the region’s outings the Dargilan caves and the Aven Armand, the vulture viewpoint, the European bison reserve, the Gévaudan wolf park, the Vallon du Villaret, Château de la Baume, the Fiougage farm, river fishing, walking or mountain biking, and the spa towns of Bagnols-les-Bains and La Chaldette.
Campsite from mid-June to mid-September; chalets and mobile home: rates published from March 28 to December 19, 2026. Off-season opening to be confirmed with the campsite.
