Camping Les Lilas is on the outskirts of Pithiviers, in the Loiret, on rue de Laas, beside the small river Oeuf. The 2-star site has 31 pitches and describes itself as the only campsite in the Pithiverais. It is fenced and under video surveillance, and reception is announced as open from 10am to 8pm every day. The town centre, its shops and its two Saturday markets are nearby.
The GR 32 long-distance footpath passes close by, which makes the site a stopover for walkers. Pets are accepted on the pitches. The washroom blocks, with showers, basins and toilets, are accessible to people with reduced mobility, and hot water is announced as available at all times. Furnished rentals are also available: a television, microwave, fridge, kettle and crockery are provided, and sheets, duvets and towels can be hired.
French and English are spoken, wifi is available and there is a play area for children. The proximity of the town centre gives access to the Saint-Georges collegiate church and the local museums.
Opening period: the campsite’s website points to a page of opening dates and rates, but no legible dates are published there. No winter opening is announced. Before any stay, especially outside the summer, call 02 38 39 20 11 to find out the dates and whether the campsite accepts holidaymakers passing through.
The campsite offers simple comfort: washrooms adapted for people with reduced mobility, hot water at all times, wifi and a fitted kitchen in the accommodation. The rentals are furnished and equipped with a television, microwave, fridge, kettle and crockery; bed linen and towels are available as an option. The grounds are secure, reception is open from 10am to 8pm and the team speaks French and English. The website mentions no restaurant, pool or grocery shop on site: the shops and restaurants of Pithiviers town centre are very close, and the Aquanova aquatic centre is in the town.
On site, a play area and outdoor games keep children busy. Fishing in the Oeuf and walking are the activities mentioned, with the GR 32 close by. In the surrounding area, you can visit the châteaux of Bouville, Chamerolles and Denainvilliers, the medieval fortress of Yèvre-le-Châtel, the steam train museum and the saffron museum, or taste the local speciality, the pithiviers. The website also mentions an aero club offering introductory flights, theatres, and yoga or pilates classes in the town.
Opening dates not published: to be confirmed with the campsite (02 38 39 20 11).
