Les Cabanes de Condé are on the route de la Mare aux Biches in Condé-sur-Vesgre, a village in the Yvelines backing onto the Rambouillet forest. Paris is about an hour away by road. The Château de Rambouillet and Espace Rambouillet are given as about twenty minutes away, the Étangs de Hollande a quarter of an hour, and Houdan, with its medieval keep, about twenty minutes.
The campsite presents itself as a place in nature rather than a large holiday village. It rents three types of accommodation: round wooden cabins for two people, two-bedroom mobile homes for four people and wooden studios designed for short stays. A tent package and a motorhome pitch complete the offer. The 2026 rates are displayed online, with a price per night and per week, and a monthly rate on request.
As for opening, the website mentions no closure period and publishes low-season rates as well as high-season ones. It explicitly offers nightly, weekly and monthly stays, which suits a working stay of several weeks. It is also advertised as open from 1 January to 31 December, for the rentals as well as the pitches. Before travelling in the middle of winter, a call to reception can confirm availability and the heating in the chosen accommodation.
The place has a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5.
Walks and bike rides in the Rambouillet forest, visit to the Château de Rambouillet and to Houdan, about twenty minutes away.
Services remain simple and are paid for individually. Breakfast is served every morning from 8:30am to 10:30am, for 9 euros per person. The laundry has washing machines at 5 euros per cycle and a dryer at 4 euros; it is open from 8am to 9pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Travellers can also add a linen and towel pack at 20 euros per mobile home, with beds made on arrival, or end-of-stay cleaning at 50 euros. If the accommodation is not left clean, a cleaning fee of 100 euros applies.
Each mobile home has a terrace with garden furniture, set away from passing traffic, under the trees. The accommodation is non-smoking, and charcoal barbecues and wood fires are prohibited on the plots. Pets are accepted for 5 euros per stay, except category 1 and 2 dogs. An extra person costs 5 euros per night, and arrival is from 4pm, departure before 10:30am.
The website shows no swimming pool, no water park and no restaurant on site. Swimming is possible in summer at the Étangs de Hollande, about fifteen minutes away. No facility is indicated as reserved for the warmer season, but the website does not say either whether the cabins and washrooms are heated. Booking is done online or by phone, with confirmation within 24 hours.
The main activity is walking in the forest: the Rambouillet massif begins at the foot of the campsite and offers dozens of kilometres of waymarked trails, which you can follow on foot, running or simply to observe the fauna and flora. The Vesgre valley and its villages are also good for cycling, on quiet minor roads and forest tracks, with a possible start directly from the site.
For day trips, the Château de Rambouillet, its park and the Bergerie Nationale are about twenty minutes away. Espace Rambouillet, a reserve where deer and wild boar live semi-free, offers canopy walkways and an adventure course, at the same distance. The Étangs de Hollande, about fifteen minutes away, offer swimming in summer, fishing and picnics in the shade of the pines. In Houdan, you can visit the keep, the markets and the characterful villages to bring back local produce.
In the off-season, the forest remains the main playground: the paths can be walked in autumn and winter, and the nearby châteaux and parks can be visited all year round according to their own opening hours. The campsite reports no organised entertainment programme on site, which suits those looking for peace and quiet.
Rentals and pitches open all year round; low- and high-season rates, stays by the night, week or month.
