La Pinède is in Cornillon-Confoux, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, on the road to Salon (RD 70), in a wooded setting of about one hectare. The village, perched above the Étang de Berre, offers a panorama stretching as far as the Alpilles, Sainte-Victoire and the Luberon. For travellers arriving by plane or train, allow half an hour by road from Marignane (airport) or from Aix TGV station; Salon-de-Provence and Saint-Chamas are neighbouring towns.
The site has been rated 3 stars since a prefectoral order of 2023 and is run by Gilles and Stéphanie Simonnet. It has about fifty pitches, including 39 comfort pitches for caravans, and thirteen rental units. As for accommodation, you can choose between shaded plots (tents, caravans, motorhomes, with or without hook-up), chalets, mobile homes for two to six people and Coco Sweet tents without washrooms.
As for opening, several concurring sources indicate that the campsite operates all year round, both for pitches and for rentals. The owners rent by the weekend, week, month or year. As the campsite’s own website could not be reached at the time of writing, the exact reception dates and any short closures should be confirmed by phone.
The atmosphere described is that of quiet holidays under the Provençal sun, with the song of cicadas as a backdrop.
Hilltop village and 9 km hiking loop in the Pont-de-Rhaud massif, visits to Salon-de-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence.
The campsite offers shared washrooms with hot water, a launderette with washing machines, safes and free Wi-Fi in the bar. The rental units are equipped with a kitchen, with crockery and a fridge, and a bathroom, except for the Coco model, which has none. They are non-smoking and accept pets.
The outdoor swimming pool measures 16 metres by 8. Its shallow depth was chosen for children’s safety, and sun loungers and parasols are set up around it. The pool’s opening dates are not specified: it is best to check before an off-season stay.
On site, a restaurant and a snack bar serve homemade pizzas, grills and Provençal dishes, with themed evenings. A fitness room, table tennis tables and an outdoor play area complete the facilities. For payment, the campsite accepts bank cards, cheques, holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances) and VACAF aid.
The entertainment programme is based on themed evenings, karaoke, night swimming and shows for children, along with daytime games. The youngest have a play area, adults the fitness room and table tennis.
Cornillon-Confoux is worth a visit on foot: the church square brings together the church, the clock tower and a 12th-century presbytery that houses the tourist office. A loop of about 9 km, almost flat, crosses the Pont-de-Rhaud massif, where you come across bories and apiers, the dry-stone niches made for bees. From the village, the view stretches to the Alpilles, Sainte-Victoire and the Luberon, and on a clear day as far as Mont Ventoux.
Further afield, you can reach Salon-de-Provence, Saint-Chamas, the shores of the Étang de Berre, the Camargue and Les Baux-de-Provence, all cited as neighbours of the campsite. The Étang de Berre itself is about 4.5 km from the site, which is described as set in a forest.
Open all year round for pitches and rentals (weekend, week or month); reception dates to be confirmed.
