The campsite is at 16 rue Berthelot in Givet, in the Ardennes, beside a lake in the heart of the Ardennes forest, a few steps from the Belgian border. A former municipal campsite, it now operates under the name Camping Le Plan d’Eau. It covers more than five hectares and has 138 pitches of 120 to 200 m² for tents, caravans and motorhomes, as well as two-bedroom mobile homes with a covered terrace for rent.
Direct access to the Voie Verte Trans-Ardennes, more than 130 kilometres of safe paths, is one of the site’s assets for walking and cycling. The Fort de Charlemont, the Nichet caves and the citadel of Dinant, in Belgium, are all nearby.
Opening period: the campsite’s website says “open all year round”, with reception open from March 1 to November 30 and closed from December 1 to the end of February, a period during which arrival remains possible by phoning 06 84 57 98 06. Mobile home rates are published from April to November. Full winter opening, services included, is therefore to be confirmed with the campsite, on 03 24 32 78 66.
In 2026, a pitch costs €4.50 per day, plus €3.50 per camper, €1.50 per child under 12 and €5 for 16 A electricity.
The campsite offers water and electricity on the pitches, a motorhome service area, a laundry with a washing machine, wifi, a children’s play area and, according to the tourist office, access for people with reduced mobility. Reception runs a small grocery shop with local products and a bread and pastry service. A snack bar is mentioned in the campsite’s news.
Pets are accepted for €1 per day. Holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances) are accepted, and the campsite gives an FFCC and ACSI discount in the off-season.
The Voie Verte starts at the campsite: more than 130 kilometres for safe cycling or walking along the Meuse, from Givet to Mouzon. A lake and a fishing pond are nearby, the beach is supervised in season, and the water park is 3 km away.
Givet also has its Fort de Charlemont and the Nichet caves, and across the border the Chevetogne estate and the citadel of Dinant. The campsite advertises entertainment in season.
