Buette

La Buette campsite occupies a tree-lined clearing on the edge of the marshes of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, in the Vendée, about 3 km from the first beaches. Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is a few minutes away and Saint-Jean-de-Monts is also nearby, giving access to the coast as well as to the cycle paths along the Vendée seafront. The site is run by its owners, described as quiet and modest in size, with a 2-star rating.

Three types of stay coexist: shaded or semi-shaded pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, two types of air-conditioned mobile homes (a 6-person model with three bedrooms and a Family model with two bedrooms) and a vintage caravan for three people, offered for an unusual overnight stay. There is no swimming pool. On site there are washrooms with a cubicle adapted for guests with reduced mobility, a common room with a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room, a playground and a covered area with a table football and a table tennis table.

Opening period: the campsite should be considered seasonal. The 2026 prices published only cover the low season from April to mid-June and September, then July and August. No winter offer is shown. Phone reception remains available Monday to Friday from 10am to 5:30pm outside summer, but this does not guarantee that the accommodation is open: for a stay from October to March, you need to call 02 51 54 32 42.

The campsite relies on simple facilities. The washrooms have four showers, three private toilet cubicles, two toilets, urinals, four sinks for washing dishes and a full cubicle for guests with reduced mobility. A laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer is available, with an ironing board and iron lent free of charge. The common room, freely accessible, has a fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher), very useful for walkers and cyclists and in bad weather. The wifi is free at reception and in this room, and an electric plancha can be borrowed on request.

Children have a playground with structures in the sand and a trampoline, as well as a covered area with a table football, a library and a table tennis table. Around the campsite, the Vendée cycle paths lead to the beaches of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. The site also mentions visiting the salt marshes, local markets and restaurants.
