Le Dolium is a family campsite with 84 pitches in Laudun-l’Ardoise, in the Gard, on the banks of the Tave, a small trout stream. It is rated 4 stars. The village is surrounded by Rhône Valley vineyards, with Mont Ventoux as a backdrop; Orange is about 23 km away, Avignon 28 km, and both the Pont du Gard and Nîmes are easy to reach by car.
The site offers mobile homes, bungalows and chalets of various sizes, including one model for 11 people, as well as grassy pitches, sunny or shaded, with a 10-amp electrical hookup. Several rental units have air conditioning and a television, and pets are accepted in some of them as well as on the pitches, subject to conditions.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. Opening is announced from 24 April to 20 September 2026 (to be confirmed with the campsite), and the official website does not publish any winter dates. The water park runs from May to September and the bar-restaurant from June to September. The campsite is therefore closed from late September to April: for any stay outside these dates, you need to contact it on 04 66 39 27 07.
The campsite promotes an eco-responsible approach, with waste sorting, composting, electric vehicle charging points and maintenance without pesticides.
The water park, reserved for guests and open from May to September from 10am to 7.30pm, includes a heated swimming pool, a fun pool, a heated paddling pool, a heated hot tub and a winding slide, with a beach area and sun loungers. The bar, the guinguette and the restaurant, open from June to September, serve everything from breakfast to dinner, with a children’s menu and high chairs. Bread and pastries can be ordered the day before.
At reception there is a small emergency grocery, a tourist information point, a library (books in French, English and Dutch) and board games to borrow. Wi-Fi is free throughout the site. The laundry has two washing machines and a dryer, and two connected communal planchas replace the charcoal and wood barbecues, which are banned. The washrooms include a baby cubicle and a cubicle adapted for people with reduced mobility. The summer facilities are not described as open off-season.
In season, an entertainer runs pétanque tournaments, treasure hunts, aqua aerobics and water games. Themed evenings punctuate the summer: karaoke, magic, mentalism, concerts, dance nights and themed meals (mussels and chips, paella, sardinade, bull gardiane).
Children have a play area with slides, table tennis tables and a recent city stade for football and basketball. Fishing takes place in the Tave, first category, directly from the campsite.
Around Laudun, the greenway, the Camp de César and the vineyards can be explored by bike or on foot; the Pont du Gard, Uzès, Avignon and Orange, with its Roman theatre, are the most frequently mentioned outings. The Gard also has the Nîmes amphitheatre, Aigues-Mortes, Beaucaire, the hilltop village of La Roque-sur-Cèze, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, the Camargue for walking and the Cévennes steam train, which follows the Gardons valley.
Seasonal campsite: open from 24 April to 20 September 2026 (to be confirmed with the campsite), closed in winter.
