Les Fontanettes

Le Parc des Fontanettes is located in La Seyne-sur-Mer, in the Var, between Toulon and Bandol and very close to Six-Fours-les-Plages. The wooded site is about 3 km from the beaches, and shops and shopping centres are some 500 m away. Access is via the A50 motorway, exit 13. La Seyne station is 2 km away, Toulon station 8 km, Toulon-Hyères airport 30 km and Marseille airport 80 km.

The campsite offers rentals only: 23 mobile homes for 2 to 4 people and 31 chalets for 4 to 6 people, all renovated, air-conditioned and with a parking space. Prices start at €47 a night for a small mobile home and €80 for the large 40 m² three-bedroom chalet. The announced rating varies between 3 and 4 stars, and the official website does not specify it. An offer to buy a renovated mobile home on a plot is also promoted.

As for opening, the campsite says it is open all year round. Outside the summer period, it sells nights individually, including a single night’s stopover. Reception can be reached Monday to Saturday, from 8:30am to 12pm and from 2:30pm to 6pm, then every day from early July to the end of August. The website mentions no particular audience in the off-season.

Buses 12 and 70 serve La Seyne, and line 84 stops at Six-Fours.

Hiking in the Ollioules gorges, walks along the marinas, sandy beaches about 3 km away.

The services described on the website are mainly those of the summer period, as it points out itself. The pool consists of a large pool and a children’s pool; no heating is mentioned. A snack-bar area, indoors or on the terrace, offers a breakfast deal and, on party evenings, tapas platters. Bread and pastries can also be bought on site.

For laundry, reception sells washing machine and tumble dryer tokens as well as detergent pods, and you can hire sheets or a baby travel cot. 4G coverage is provided by the main operators; paid wifi is offered as an option. A postal service makes it possible to receive mail in the client’s name, in the campsite’s mailboxes.

The accommodation has reversible air conditioning or an air-conditioning unit depending on the model, a kitchen with fridge, hob, microwave and coffee maker, a bathroom and a terrace, covered for the chalets. Some models add a dining room with television. Cleaning package, sheets, towels and baby cot are available as options. The website does not say whether the pool, the snack bar or the laundry operate in the off-season: it is best to ask at reception before an autumn or winter stay.

At the campsite, the offer stays simple: a table tennis table and a pétanque court for relaxing, the pool in the warmer season and festive summer evenings. A kids’ club with entertainment is sometimes mentioned, without the official website giving details: to be confirmed with the campsite.

The sandy beaches are about 3 km away, including Les Sablettes, on the isthmus of the Saint-Mandrier peninsula, one of the most popular on the Toulon roadstead. In Bandol, three beaches are easy to reach from the campsite: Grand Vallat, the Casino beach and the Central beach. Renécros, in a sheltered bay with shallow water, is known for family games, with supervised swimming. A thalassotherapy centre is also located there.

The website also recommends walking the trails of the Ollioules gorges, in a pine-wooded hinterland, strolling along the quays of the marinas where night markets are held in summer, and discovering Sanary-sur-Mer and Six-Fours-les-Plages. La Seyne also has its commercial port, at the far end of the Toulon roadstead, with its shipyards. In the off-season, hiking and walks along the harbours remain possible, although the website cites no specific entertainment in winter.
