Le Village Vert

Le Village Vert is a family campsite in the commune of Tollevast, in the Cotentin (Manche). The owners, Jérôme and Marie-Christine Léonard, describe it as a large garden of 5 hectares, on a human scale, where you can stop for a night in a tent, rent a mobile home by the week or install your own all year round. The internal roads are tarmacked.

The tourist offer includes 25 grass pitches, all connected to 10-amp electricity, for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a waste disposal point and a pitch reserved for people with reduced mobility. There are also two-bedroom mobile homes with a terrace, and canvas lodges with a bathroom. Part of the site is given over to residential plots of 150 to 200 m², rented to mobile home owners on a two-year contract.

Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. The tourist pitches, mobile homes and lodges are open from 1 April to the end of September. Only the residential plots, occupied by their owners, remain open all year round. The campsite is therefore closed to holidaymakers from October to March. Services are concentrated on the season, from April to September. The washroom block includes showers, a baby room, a full cubicle, WCs, washbasins, dishwashing and laundry sinks, with an area for dogs and a waste sorting point. One cubicle is adapted for people with reduced mobility.

A small emergency grocery store with local products is at reception. The pizzeria “Le Youkounkoun” serves pizzas and tartines to take away or to enjoy at the guinguette du Moulin; it opens at weekends from April to June, then every day during the two summer months. The taverne de la Table Ronde, a small medieval-themed room with a television, serves as a shelter in bad weather. A launderette is available in season.

The covered, heated pool is open from 1 May to 30 September. The rental accommodation comes with bedding and disposable protectors, and an equipped kitchen (gas, fridge-freezer, microwave).

The campsite focuses on peace and quiet: the owner states that no entertainment is organised in July and August. Outside summer, the hall “La Zizanie” hosts activities, and a fitness area is open in season with cardio, weights and group classes.

A large boules court allows friends to play pétanque together, and there is a playground for children aged 2 to 10. Bikes are mentioned as useful luggage for rental stays.
