Overview

Le Parc des Grands Clos is in Asnières-sur-Oise, in the Val-d’Oise department, on the route de Chantilly. The site is 35 minutes from Paris, 25 minutes from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and 15 minutes from Chantilly, which makes it a convenient base for trips between the Île-de-France and the Oise.

Created more than fifty years ago, the campsite is rated 2 stars in the “leisure campsite” category. It covers more than 4.5 hectares of wooded land and has 122 pitches. Its profile is quite unusual: it is now mainly given over to mobile homes, some of them owned by residents who live here all year, and it lives to the rhythm of a small community run by an association of volunteers. However, passing visitors mention an area for caravans and motorhomes.

On opening, the campsite says it operates all year round, with no seasonal break. The 2025 rates distinguish between a daily “tourist” rate (per person, pitch, vehicle, pet and electricity) and long-stay monthly rates for caravans and mobile homes, which suits holidaymakers passing through as well as guests staying longer, for example for a building job or an assignment. The exact dates of reception off-season should be confirmed directly with the campsite, which can be reached Monday to Friday and on Saturday morning.

The setting stays quiet despite the closeness of the town centre, with a secure entrance closed by a gate or barrier at all times.

Facilities

🧺laverie
🧺Washing machine
🧺Tumble dryer

The comfort on offer is that of a residential campsite: the plots are connected to water and mains drainage, and electricity is supplied through an individual meter up to 45 amps. The washrooms are heated, which matters for autumn and winter stays, and hot water supplies showers and washbasins.

A laundry with coin-operated washing machines and dryers is available on site; the price list gives 5 € a token for each machine. A wi-fi point covers the site, the campsite sells 13 kg propane gas bottles (45.50 € in 2025) and pets are accepted on presentation of their papers, for a supplement per day or per month.

The site is closed off by a gate or barrier 24 hours a day, which reassures families and long-term residents alike. Reception is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm, and on Saturday from 10:30am to 3pm. The website also mentions access for disabled visitors.

The campsite website mentions neither a swimming pool nor a restaurant, so there is no water area to plan for. For shopping and meals, guests head to the centre of Asnières-sur-Oise, which visitors say is very close to the site. The tourist tax of 0.65 € per person per night is added to the rates shown.

Activities & entertainment

🎯Petanque
🎾Tennis

On site, the offer is simple and designed for community life: a play area for children, a petanque court, a tennis court and a common room that also serves as a meeting room. The campsite association, run by volunteer residents, regularly organises activities there that are open to the community.

Around the campsite, the website mentions several major leisure destinations. The château de Chantilly, about 15 minutes away, houses a museum and extensive gardens; the Mer de Sable and Parc Astérix, in the Oise, are reliable family outings, as is Sherwood Parc, an adventure park in the forest. Disneyland Paris means a longer journey but can still be reached from Asnières-sur-Oise.

Closer to hand, Royaumont abbey, a former Cistercian abbey now a cultural foundation, is in the commune of Asnières-sur-Oise itself and goes well with a walk around the ponds of the Oise valley. Paris, 35 minutes away, offers museums and monuments to visit at any time of year, which matters for an off-season stay, when outdoor activities are more limited.

The campsite does not advertise summer entertainment such as a kids’ club or theme nights: communal life relies on the association and on friendliness between neighbours.
