Le Lagon de la Prée is in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Prée, in Charente-Maritime, between Rochefort and Fouras-les-Bains. The website says it is 6.7 km from the beaches of Fouras, with Châtelaillon-Plage, La Rochelle and the boat landings for the Île d’Aix, Oléron and Ré nearby. The 5-hectare wooded park is rated 4 stars and has 199 air-conditioned cottages and lodges with 2 to 3 bedrooms, from 20 to 36 m².
The site stands out for its three water areas: an 800 m² natural lagoon edged with white sand, a water park heated to 28 °C with three slides, and a covered, heated pool with whirlpool baths and a paddling pool. A kids’ club, playgrounds and sports grounds complete the offer, along with entertainment in July and August.
Opening period: the campsite describes itself as “open in all seasons except December and January”. Rentals are announced from early February to the end of November, and spa guests from the Rochefort thermal baths are welcomed as a priority from February to the end of June, then in autumn. The covered pool operates from 1 April to the end of the All Saints school holidays, the water park from May to September and the lagoon from June to September. The campsite therefore closes for two months in winter: for an arrival in February or November, confirm on 05 46 84 89 40.
All the accommodation has reversible air conditioning and a fitted kitchen, with a covered or semi-covered wooden terrace and one to two parking spaces on the plot. Wifi is available as a daily or weekly package, and sheet hire has been offered since 2026. Access is controlled by an entry code and a gate, with video surveillance and a warden present day and night.
The Blue Bay bar, facing the lagoon, serves cocktails and snacks; it is open from 1 July to 28 August. The covered pool is open from 10am to 7pm, the water park from 10am to 7pm from 1 May to 30 September, and the lagoon from 9:30am to 7:30pm from 1 June to 30 September.
Entertainment is concentrated in summer: aperitif games in the late afternoon, karaoke, disco, white, fluorescent or blind test nights in July and August, and a kids’ club for ages 4 to 12 with two leaders during the summer holidays. The campsite also has playgrounds, sports grounds, a pétanque area and three outdoor fitness machines.
The region is well suited to discovering Rochefort and its thermal spa, the beaches of Fouras-les-Bains, La Rochelle, Fort Boyard and the Île Madame at low tide. The website also lists golfers among its clientele.
Campsite closed in December and January; rentals announced from early February to the end of November (dates for the current year to be confirmed with the campsite).
