Le Lomagnol stands in the leisure park of Beaumont-de-Lomagne, on Avenue du Lac, in the south-west of Tarn-et-Garonne. Montauban is about 35 km to the north-east, on the road to the Gers, and the site lies at the gateway to that département. The town, a 13th-century bastide nicknamed “the little Tuscany of France”, still has its timber-framed market hall and its fortified church.
The campsite is rated 3 stars and has 80 pitches, including two mobile homes, on semi-shaded ground. Next door, the leisure village offers 24 air-conditioned 2-star gîtes, seven lodge tents, two mini-tents for two people and a hall that can seat 70 guests. The current team, Sandra, Jonathan and their colleagues, has run the site since 1 April 2022 in a family atmosphere.
Opening: the camping pitches operate from 25 April to 17 October 2026, weather permitting, while the gîtes are let all year round. A holidaymaker passing through can therefore book one of these gîtes off-season, for a short or long stay, with rates published per night and per week. The reception hall is also available off-season.
The website also lists local events throughout the year: festivals, fairs and food festivities.
Hall hire for off-season events; local festivals, fairs and food festivities all year round in the Lomagne.
As for facilities, the campsite sticks to the essentials. The two washroom blocks were renovated between 2023 and 2024. A laundry with washing machines and an ironing table, a small convenience shop and a service area for motorhomes are available; bread and pastries must be ordered the day before, but only in high season. A late arrival is possible for an extra charge and must be announced in advance.
Water plays a big part, but outside the campsite. The municipal swimming pool of the leisure village, right next door, has three pools, including a 25 m one, a slide and pentaslides, and is open only from 1 July to 31 August; a wristband handed out at reception gives guests free access. On the 30-hectare lake, an inflatable AquaPark measuring 47.5 m by 16 m is chargeable (10 € per hour, from age 8, Tuesday to Sunday in summer), as is the hire of canoes and paddleboards.
Off-season, the air-conditioned gîtes remain the heart of the offer, along with the reception hall; the pool, the AquaPark, bread to order and water activities are reserved for summer. Reception is open from 9am to 12pm and from 2:30pm to 5pm in the off-season.
The leisure village serves as a playground: mini-golf, table tennis, a pétanque court, beach volleyball, a large trampoline, a multi-game area for children and ten fitness stations around the lake. Mini-golf is chargeable for people from outside the campsite. Children also enjoy several play areas, and canoes and paddleboards can be hired from age 6, accompanied by an adult.
Anglers have a 30-hectare lake and 22 carp-fishing pitches around it, with washrooms and a shower. Night fishing is chargeable and a fishing licence is compulsory. The site also offers hiking and cycling discoveries in the Lomagne.
Nearby, Beaumont-de-Lomagne is home to the birthplace of Pierre Fermat, devoted to science and mathematics, as well as the market under the hall. Further afield, Moissac, Montauban and the Canal des Deux Mers are among the great sites of Occitanie, while Lauzerte, Auvillar and Bruniquel rank among the most beautiful villages in France. Gastronomy and markets set the rhythm of the region all year round, with Lomagne garlic, foie gras and truffle.
