Camping de la Sensée is in Aubigny-au-Bac, in the Nord department, in the heart of the Sensée valley, halfway between Cambrai, Douai, Valenciennes and Arras. Cambrai and Douai are about twenty minutes away, Lille about 45 minutes. The site is rated 4 stars and holds the Tourisme et Handicap label.
It has 210 pitches of 100 to 200 m², marked out by planting, plus three hardstanding pitches for motorhomes. All have water, electricity and drainage, on the pitch or very close by. As for rentals, there are seven wooden chalets with two or three bedrooms on 225 m² plots, as well as mobile homes for 4 to 8 people, with two to four bedrooms, set on 200 m² with a terrace. Two fishing ponds, an animal park and a covered water park complete the site.
Opening period: the tent, caravan and motorhome pitches welcome guests from 1 April to 15 October. The chalets and mobile homes, however, can be rented all year round, by the weekend, the week or the month, and the motorhome area receives motorhome travellers twelve months a year. Reception is open Monday to Friday from November to March. The campsite also offers packages for business travellers, from midweek, Monday to Friday, up to several months.
Stays in a chalet or mobile home by the weekend or the month, games room and play area on site, Sensée valley and Loisiparc leisure park 800 m away.
Free fibre wifi covers the whole site, including the pitches and the rental accommodation. Four washroom blocks are spread around the campsite, two of them with showers; they include facilities for guests with reduced mobility, and there are dishwashing sinks and a washing machine. Reception offers tourist information and suggestions for outings.
The bar serves drinks and light meals (paninis, tacos and other snacks) every day from 4 July to 24 August 2026, from 3pm to 9pm. In the shoulder season, from 18 April to 27 June and from 29 August to 12 September, it opens only on Saturdays and the eve of public holidays, from 4pm to 8pm. Outside these periods, it is best to plan your own meals: the neighbouring village, less than a kilometre away, has a bakery, supermarket, tobacconist-bar, restaurant, pizzeria, chip shop, pharmacy, vet and railway station.
The water park is covered and heated to 28.5 °C under a dome, over 170 m². It includes a paddling pool, a lazy river, a swimming area, an eight-seat spa pool and water jets. It is open from 3 April to 20 September 2026: in winter, there is no swimming. A waste disposal and water refill point, with a charge for the water, is located near reception, but it is closed in winter. A charging point for electric vehicles is announced as coming soon.
On site, the games room has a pool table, a pinball machine and table football, there is a table tennis table, and a boules court with seven lanes hosts games of pétanque. The children’s play area has a slide, a climbing frame and spring riders. A tennis court, a badminton court and a multisport pitch are nearby. The two fishing ponds are restocked every year, and one of them can be fished without a permit.
The animal park shows goats from April to September, then Shetland ponies and a donkey in July and August, with a pony ride on Tuesday mornings in high season. The entertainment team runs activities from 5 July to 23 August 2026: bouncy castles twice a week, crafts, group games, pétanque, darts and bingo competitions, shows, music quizzes and karaoke. Music evenings are held at the water park in July and August.
Around the campsite, the Loisiparc leisure park is 800 metres away, with water sports and a high-ropes course. The Fleury amusement park and the Lewarde mining history centre offer outings further afield, cultural or family-oriented, and the Sensée valley can be explored on foot or by bike.
Rental accommodation (mobile homes and chalets) and motorhome area open all year round; pitches from 1 April to 15 October.
