The Les Prairies municipal campsite in Lanchères covers more than ten hectares at 181 rue du Stade, in Lanchères, in the Somme department. It is a 2-star campsite run by the municipality, at the gateway to the Bay of Somme, about 5 kilometres from the beaches. Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme and Cayeux-sur-Mer are nearby, making it a practical base for exploring the Picardy coast.
The site has 180 marked pitches, averaging about 150 m², with water and electricity hook-ups and waste water disposal for motorhomes. Mobile homes and chalets are rented by the week. The site is fenced and closed at night, which reassures families.
Opening period: the campsite’s listing published by Somme Tourisme announces opening from 1 January to 31 December 2026, and the Hauts-de-France tourism portal states “all year round 2026”. No winter closure is therefore announced for 2026. To book a pitch or a rental in the off-season, the simplest way is to call 03 22 60 71 87.
The setting stays quiet in every season: a village in the Picardy countryside, an artisan bakery, a café-restaurant and a municipal post office agency within easy reach.
Cycling and walking around the Bay of Somme, visits to Lanchères and Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme.
Several washroom blocks are spread around the site, including one suitable for people with reduced mobility. The pitches have water and electricity, and a waste disposal point serves motorhomes. A laundry with a washing machine, a gas bottle drop-off point and wifi complete the facilities, and parking is free.
For children, two outdoor play areas have swings, a slide and a rocking horse. An activity room with a table tennis table offers a refuge on rainy days, and the campsite has a volleyball court and a pétanque court.
There is no restaurant at the campsite, but the village offers what you need to stock up: an artisan baker, the café-restaurant Le Café de l’époque, a municipal post office agency, a market gardener on Sunday mornings on the square and a food truck on Friday evenings. Accepted payment methods include cash, cheques and holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances). The campsite has no pool: swimming is in the sea, about ten minutes away by car.
On site, you can play pétanque, volleyball and table tennis, and younger children have their two play areas. The municipality also has a city-stade (multi-sport court) and a pétanque court with a picnic table, rue Jeanne d’Arc. A cycle path starts 3 kilometres from the campsite, and many walking routes begin in the surrounding area.
Lanchères offers a few sights: the church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the ruins of the medieval Poutrincourt castle in a hamlet of the municipality, and the Maison de la Baie.
Further afield, the Parc Salomon offers treetop adventure courses, the steam train that runs along the bay leaves from Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme, and Cayeux-sur-Mer offers rail bikes: three easy family outings, a few minutes by car. The beaches of the bay, ranked among the most beautiful in the world, are about 5 kilometres away, with long walks possible at low tide and at high tide alike.
In the off-season, the country lanes and the surroundings of the bay can be explored at a leisurely pace on foot or by bike, away from the summer crowds.
Open from 1 January to 31 December 2026, pitches and rentals.
