Sixty-eight campsites with a heated pool are listed on the portal, 48 of them with verified off-season opening. The criterion concerns the water, not the calendar: a campsite that is open all year does not necessarily have a pool that is open in winter. Most often, the heated pool operates from May to September, sometimes from April to October, while the rental accommodation or the pitches remain accessible. Only a few covered pools are truly usable in low season.
In Grand Est, the Domaine de Longemer in Xonrupt-Longemer (Vosges) announces a heated indoor pool and a wellness area open all year round, and La Tour du Stock in Langatte (Moselle) two heated covered pools, also open all year. At Les Lacs, in Celles-sur-Plaine, the heated indoor pool is for guests of the gîtes; the campsite itself closes from October to early April. In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, L’Escale in Le Grand-Bornand heats an 80 m² covered pool for the winter season, from 5 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. In Occitanie, the Chalets du Lac in Belcaire (Aude) open a covered pool at 28 °C from 10am to 7pm all year round. In the Oise, La Trye in Bresles keeps its pool at 27 °C during the winter school holidays, as do the Cercelles in Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, in the Charente-Maritime.
The Pays de la Loire has ten campsites with a heated pool, all verified, whose pools follow the fine season. Le Trèfle à 4 feuilles in Commequiers opens its covered pool from early April to the end of September, Les Rulières in Saint-Valérien from April to October, Les Charmes in Apremont from the April holidays to the October ones. At the Domaine des Pins in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, the water area closes from November to Easter while the rental accommodation stays open. In the Vienne, Le Futuriste heats its covered pool to 30 °C from 1 April to 1 November. In Normandy, Salverte (Eure) welcomes pitches all year, with a covered pool from 15 May to 15 September.
Elsewhere, year-round opening concerns the accommodation. In Osséja (Pyrénées-Orientales), El Pailles rents its chalets all year but heats its pool only in July and August. Le Rioumajou in Bourisp, near Saint-Lary, welcomes guests all year with a pool from late June to early September. In Gap, Le Napoléon opens 365 days a year and its pool from early April to October. In the Nièvre, L’Étang de la Fougeraie heats its pool to 29 °C from mid-June to September and closes its rentals in February.
Ask for the pool’s dates before the campsite’s, then the water temperature, access during the school holidays and the monthly rate in low season. Thirteen campsites in this selection close for several months, including Le Bois Dormant and Le Dolium, and seven others declare off-season opening that we have not confirmed.
Off-season, a heated pool can be combined with skiing and wellness. In Xonrupt-Longemer, you ski at Xonrupt-Le Poli or go snowshoeing before heading back to the indoor pool. In Le Grand-Bornand, the gondola lifts are 500 m from L’Escale, with a free shuttle and an ice rink 100 m away. In Belcaire, the Camurac ski resort is less than 10 minutes away.
When the pool is closed, some campsites offer an alternative: Catinat Fleuri in Guillestre offers balneotherapy and a hammam after a day’s skiing at Risoul or Vars, 20 minutes away. On the Île d’Oléron, the covered pool at Les Cercelles welcomes swimmers during the winter holidays, before a visit to the Musée d’Oléron or the Cité de l’huître in Marennes.
For a stay in April or October, choose a covered pool: Le Trèfle à 4 feuilles reopens in early April, Le Futuriste stays open until 1 November and the Domaine des Pins until 11 November.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
