Overview

Camping La Palhère is in Pourcharesses, in Lozère, at the foot of Mont Lozère and inside the Cévennes National Park. Rated 3 stars, it covers about 3 hectares beside a river where you can swim and fish.

The site has 45 pitches, mostly traditional, for tents, caravans, vans and motorhomes. For more comfort, it offers chalets for 4, 6 or 8 people with a terrace and mountain views, a mobile home, wooden caravans, a tipi for 4 people and a Coco Sweet. Dogs are allowed in some rental accommodation, for €5 per night. Wi-Fi is free and a team is said to be present 24 hours a day.

Facilities include three washroom blocks, one of them adapted for people with reduced mobility, a baby room, a secure playground, a heated pool with a hammock area and a shared library. In season, a restaurant serves wood-fired pizzas, snacks and ice cream, and a bread delivery service runs in the morning.

Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite. The website announces an annual closure from mid-October to mid-April, depending on the weather, and another page mentions opening from April to October. Reception is open from 9am to 12pm and from 3pm to 7pm. The campsite is therefore closed in winter and no winter offer is published: for the exact dates each year, call 04 66 46 80 63.
