The Lac de Menet holiday village sits on the shore of a 14-hectare natural lake, in Menet, in the north-west of the Cantal. The village is classified as a Petite Cité de Caractère and lies about 1 km from the site, between the Sancy massif and the Monts du Cantal, in the heart of the Volcans d’Auvergne Regional Nature Park. The Puy Mary, Salers, Le Lioran and Super Besse are listed as outings in the region.
The establishment is rated 4 stars and run by a couple. It has 14 chalets of about 60 m², built on stilts with a 40 m² terrace and a view of the lake, designed for 1 to 6 people. One chalet is adapted for people with reduced mobility. A natural area also offers well-spaced pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes.
Opening period: the official website announces that the indoor pool opens from 4 April to 30 October 2026 and the natural area from 15 April 2026. Its English version states that the village was closed from 2 November 2025 to 7 February 2026, and its Dutch version that the chalets open from February to mid-November. No winter dates are published for 2026 and 2027: opening from December to January is not established. Before any request for an off-season stay, you should therefore contact the campsite on 06 42 04 85 37.
The chalets have a fitted kitchen (oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, four-burner hob), a bathroom with shower, a pellet stove and convector heaters in every room. Heating and water are included in the rate. Wifi and television are free, and duvets are provided; bed linen can be hired as an option.
The heated indoor pool, facing due south, is announced from 4 April to 30 October 2026. It includes a paddling pool and adapted access for people with reduced mobility. A snack bar serving ice cream is located opposite the lake.
On site, a city park hosts volleyball, basketball and football, and a kids’ club and family evenings are offered in season. The lake is suitable for fishing, natural water swimming, pedal boats, rowing boats and canoeing.
Around the village, the Cantal has about 3,000 km of waymarked hiking routes, 1,100 km of mountain bike circuits and the Grande Traversée du Volcan à vélo cycle route. In winter, the Le Lioran and Super Besse resorts offer skiing, but the campsite publishes no opening dates for this period.
