La Belle Etoile

Camping La Belle Étoile is tucked away in Reygade, in southern Corrèze, a few kilometres from Argentat-sur-Dordogne, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and Collonges-la-Rouge, a red sandstone village listed among the most beautiful in France. The Dordogne gorges are close, and the Lot département is only a short drive away.

Rated 3 stars, the site covers about 4 hectares of tree-lined, flower-filled parkland. It remains on a human scale: 29 pitches, including 12 rental accommodations split between gîtes of 48 m² for 6 people, chalets of 63 m² for 8 people, bungalows with two or three bedrooms and bungalis. The bare pitches, of at least 100 m², have water and electricity nearby.

As for opening, the offer is split in two. The gîtes and chalets can be booked all year round. After the washrooms and pool close at the end of September, the campsite welcomes motorhomes at a reduced rate, and this welcome is maintained all year round. The bungalows, however, operate only from 1 May to 30 September and are not heated. Tents and caravans are therefore more visitors of the warm season.

The reception office is open every day, from 8am to noon and from 3pm to 7pm. Off-season, the site is aimed mainly at those looking for a quiet holiday home for a weekend or a week, and at passing motorhome travellers.

Four walking routes and two mountain bike circuits start from the campsite; Collonges-la-Rouge, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and the Dordogne gorges are a few kilometres away.

A main washroom block brings together showers, basins and toilets, with a nursery area equipped with a bath and baby-changing table, and a cubicle adapted for guests with reduced mobility. A laundry with washing machine and dryer is available, as well as a freezer for ice packs. Wi-Fi is free across the site and a socket allows an electric vehicle to be charged. Bed linen and towels can be hired, baby equipment is lent out, and a corner with books and board games completes the offer.

In summer, a small shop selling local products opens from 10am to noon and from 3pm to 7pm, and a bread point runs in July and August. The snack bar opens in the evening, from 6pm to 9pm, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in June and September, then every day in July and August: it serves artisan pizzas, drinks and, by reservation, charcuterie and cheese boards. A shared barbecue is near the bar. A function room with 50 seats can be hired, particularly off-season.

The secure, flower-filled water area includes a paddling pool and a heated infinity pool; it is open only from 1 June to 30 September. A fitness area, indoor and outdoor, is also offered. Note that from the end of September, washrooms and pool close: only the gîtes, the chalets and the motorhome welcome remain open, the latter at a reduced rate.

The sports ground has football, volleyball, badminton, tennis, a basketball hoop, table tennis and table football, with a fitness trail and pétanque courts. Children have a wooden play area: train, sandpit, swings, zip line and a small mountain bike course. Creative workshops are also organised during the season.

Four walking routes and two mountain bike circuits start directly from the campsite, through the Corrèze countryside, with lovely views. The river is close: the campsite has a private bank on the Dordogne, 3.5 km away, for fishing. Other activities are a little further away, such as canoeing at 13 km, horse riding at 13 km and golf at 16 km.

The local setting offers enough to fill several days: the Dordogne gorges, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Argentat, Collonges-la-Rouge and, on the Lot side, Rocamadour. Guided outings for walking, mountain biking, motorbiking or quad biking are offered to clubs and groups, on a half-board basis. Off-season, it is mainly the trails and the surrounding villages that make up the programme.
