Domaine de Longemer

Domaine de Longemer is in Xonrupt-Longemer, in the Vosges, about a hundred metres from Lake Longemer and close to Gérardmer. It is a 4-star municipal campsite set in a protected site on about 6 hectares of land and forest. The lake, the forests and the surrounding mountains make up the main backdrop of a stay.

The accommodation offer includes 167 pitches of 80 m² with 16 A hook-up, a motorhome car park and 18 rentals spread across villas, wooden chalets, bivouacs and lodge tents, for up to 8 people. The prices listed start at €19 a night for a motorhome, €21 for a pitch, €37 for a wooden bivouac and €69 for a chalet.

As for the calendar, the website claims twelve-month opening: reception, rentals, pitches, the wellness area and the motorhome car park operate all year. In winter, 48 stabilised, snow-cleared pitches with electricity are offered for snow-caravan camping, and a winter rental stay offer is presented separately. Only the snack bar, the restaurant and the small shop, run by an independent operator, mainly follow the school holiday calendar: it is best to call them before coming.

The Xonrupt-Le Poli ski area is close by, as are Gérardmer and La Bresse, and a shuttle takes you to the slopes.

Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and sledging at Xonrupt-Le Poli, snowshoeing, raclette evenings at the campsite, heated indoor pool and wellness area.

Three heated washroom blocks, accessible to guests with reduced mobility, are spread across the estate, with a nursery corner for little ones. A heated communal kitchen is located in the Maison du Vélo, by the river, and the site has a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer, a secure bike room with workshop area and washing platform, and barbecues to borrow depending on availability. Reception is open all year, in French, English and German, mornings and afternoons. Wi-fi is free for 30 minutes at reception and paid across the rest of the site.

The snack bar, restaurant and shop belong to an independent operator and do not run continuously: they are mainly open during school holidays. A bread service is listed among the winter services. A shuttle on reservation serves Gérardmer, for €5 per person, and another is mentioned for the ski slopes and the Gérardmer market.

For water and relaxation, the campsite advertises a heated indoor pool and a wellness area called “L’instant Nature”: sauna, hammam, indoor and outdoor hot tubs and a rest room with herbal tea bar, for guests over 16 only and open all year. Towels are provided, bathrobes can be hired, and massages are booked separately, including a one-hour massage at €71. These facilities serve as well in summer as on snowy days. Lake Longemer, next to the campsite, hosts water activities in season.

On site, children have a playground with swings, spring riders and a sandpit; a club for 6 to 12 year-olds runs from mid-July to mid-August. Adults will find two table tennis tables, a petanque court, a grass volleyball court and a free games room with table football, pool and satellite TV. Canoes and kayaks are offered in summer and snowshoes in winter. A few sports activities for teenagers and adults take place from mid-July to mid-August, and concerts are organised from time to time in summer.

Outside the summer season, the programme changes: the Xonrupt-Le Poli ski area offers alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and a sledging area, and Gérardmer and La Bresse let you extend the gliding. Snowshoe walks cross forests and summits, children build snowmen and igloos in the campsite, and raclette evenings, with an appliance on loan from reception, bring together holidaymakers in snow caravans or rentals.

In summer, reception provides hiking and mountain bike route maps, and the 6 hectares of the estate, extended by Lake Longemer 100 m away, lend themselves to walking and cycling.
