Les Hameaux des Marines is a 3-star holiday residence of the Terres de France brand, in Saint-Denis-d’Oléron, on the west coast of the Île d’Oléron. It is in a quiet spot, about 300 m from the ocean and the Plage des Huttes, close to the village and 10 minutes from the port of La Cotinière. Unlike a traditional campsite, it does not offer unserviced pitches: the offer is based on wooden cottages to rent, each with a 15 m² terrace and garden furniture.
Three options are available: a 2-room cottage for 2 people, a 3-room cottage for 4 people and a 3-room cottage for 6 people. Each unit has an equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a bathroom with shower, a separate WC and a television; heating, water and electricity are included, while air conditioning, linen and end-of-stay cleaning cost extra.
Opening period: the residence announces its 2026 opening on 6 February and access to the pool from 3 April to 11 November 2026. No end-of-year closing date is published: you therefore need to contact reception on 05 46 75 21 59 for a stay in December or January. Reception is stated to be open every day.
The rental includes free parking, a flat-screen television, wifi in the cottages, heating, water and electricity, and a baby high chair available at reception. Some services are chargeable: bed and bath linen (€12 per person), pets (€8 per night per animal), end-of-stay cleaning, cleaning kit, baby cot and bath, coin-operated launderette and air conditioning. Arrival is between 4pm and 6pm, or between 4pm and 8pm in July and August, with 48 hours’ notice.
The heated pool, covered and open-air, is among the facilities included in the stay. The website gives two benchmarks: 3 April to 11 November 2026 on the practical information page, and May to the end of October depending on the weather on the leisure page. In July and August, it is possible to order pastries, bread, newspapers and seafood platters delivered to the cottages.
On site, the residence provides a children’s playground, a table tennis table with bat loan and a pétanque court with boules loan, all free of charge. Reception gives information on leisure activities on Oléron, and bike hire is available for an extra charge; a partner also hires out bikes in the north of the island from April to September.
Around the residence, the island offers many cycle paths, beaches, salt marshes, Marennes-Oléron oysters, the éclade de mussels (mussels cooked under burning pine needles), the Chassiron lighthouse, the port of Boyardville and views of Fort Boyard. The Île d’Aix, the Île de Ré and the Île Madame are mentioned as possible excursions.
2026 opening announced for 6 February; pool from 3 April to 11 November 2026. End-of-year closing not published, to be confirmed with the residence.
