Twenty-three campsites are listed in the Hautes-Pyrénées, eight of them with verified off-season opening. They are concentrated around the Val d’Azun, Saint-Lary, Campan and Gavarnie, close to ski resorts and thermal spas. Only these eight are presented as open all year round, often thanks to their rental accommodation.
Le Bosquet, in Bun, welcomes pitches and mobile homes all year round at 800 m altitude. Azun Nature rents out its chalets and cabins all year, with a spa that can be booked privately and snowshoes for hire; its pitches open on 1 May. In Préchac, Hautacam welcomes guests all year at the foot of the ski resort. L’Idéal, in Arras-en-Lavedan, announces opening from 6 April to 31 December 2026.
In Bourisp, Le Rioumajou, 4 stars, is open all year round, with heated washrooms and a heated pool in season, 2 km from Saint-Lary-Soulan. La Mousquère heats its mobile homes from around 1 December to 11 October and offers free wifi and a free shuttle to the slopes; its pitches are closed from October to early May. Near Arreau, International Le Refuge says it is open all year, but in winter it mainly serves mobile home owners. La Neste, in Guchan, announces year-round opening.
In Campan, L’Orée des Monts opens from 1 December to 31 March and from 1 May to 18 October 2026, with heated rental accommodation and a heated pool in summer. In Saligos, near Luz-Saint-Sauveur, So de Prous welcomes guests from 20 December to 11 November. In Gèdre, at the gateway to the national park, Le Mousca rents out its mobile homes all year, but its pitches only from 20 June to 31 August. Les Bulanettes, in Campan, announces that a stay is possible in winter as well as summer, with heated washrooms, without precise dates; Les Frênes and Les Rives de l’Adour, in the Campan valley, as well as Le Bellevue, in Gavarnie-Gèdre, publish no dates.
In Lanne, between Tarbes and Lourdes, La Bergerie closes its pitches from 1 October to 1 May, but rents out its mobile homes all year. Espace Pyrénées Loisirs, in Lau-Balagnas, with a pool, jacuzzi and sauna, and Soleil du Pibeste, in Agos-Vidalos, with a pool and kids’ club, say they are open all year, the latter for rentals only. Deth Potz closes from 1 October to 15 December, Le Hourgade and Le Lustou give no dates, and GR 10 opens its pitches only from 20 June to 31 August.
Ask whether heating is included and whether shuttles serve the slopes, then confirm the dates by phone.
In the Val d’Azun, cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing and sledging are available in winter, with snowshoes for hire at Azun Nature; around Bun, Couraduque offers Nordic skiing and the thermal baths of Argelès-Gazost are nearby. In Préchac, the Hautacam resort offers skiing and rail sledging.
Around Bourisp, four resorts are close by, Saint-Lary foremost, and the Pig Festival and the torchlight descent on 25 December mark the winter. From Campan, the Grand Tourmalet and La Mongie are within reach, as are cross-country skiing at Payolle and the spa treatments of Bagnères-de-Bigorre. In Gèdre, a covered natural-ice rink is open all year, and a shuttle serves Gavarnie from mid-December to mid-March.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
