Four campsites are listed in the Aveyron, only one of them with verified off-season opening: Le Roquelongue, in Boisse-Penchot. The other three are seasonal addresses or addresses whose off-season opening is not confirmed.
This three-star site of 3.5 hectares, in the north-west of the department, says it is open all year round; its rate grid has an “other months” column for both pitches and rentals. Possible closing dates are not specified: confirm them at reception before booking. The campsite has 66 pitches, chalets and mobile homes, runs along 400 m of grassy riverbank, and the V86 cycle route passes in front of the entrance. A park is home to Ouessant sheep, a miniature pig and hens, which the children feed. Off-season, it caters to the spa guests of Cransac, 15 minutes away, who get reduced rates, and to GR65 pilgrims, 500 m away. The pool only opens from June to September and the snack bar from May to September; shops are 1.5 km away.
The municipal campsite de la Nuéjouls, in Fayet, has 17 pitches and two mobile homes, open from April to November. Le Katalpa, in Comprégnac, 12 km from Millau, sits on the Tarn but only opens from 1 June to 15 September, with no catering from 2026. Le Plô, in Sévérac d’Aveyron, offers 34 accommodations including chalets, a yurt and a lodge, as well as a covered pool heated in spring: its off-season opening dates are not confirmed.
Ask for the closing dates, the heating in the rentals and the opening days of catering. Plan your shopping off-season, and your means of payment: Le Katalpa does not accept bank cards.
From Boisse-Penchot, the forest opposite invites walks and, depending on the weather, picking porcini and chanterelles. The spa town of Cransac is 15 minutes away, the craft brewery in Decazeville and the village bakery can be visited, and Conques, Najac and Estaing are among the Plus Beaux Villages de France.
Along the Lot, the 3 km of river down to Flagnac can be paddled by canoe in season, the V86 can be followed by bike and fishing is possible from the banks, with a night course for carp. Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac can be reached by car in a day. At Fayet, the abbey of Sylvanès, a Russian Orthodox church and the château de Montaigut are nearby. Around Comprégnac, canoeing, hiking and climbing are available less than 30 minutes from Millau.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
