Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Camping Le GR 10 is in Cauterets, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, at 820 m altitude, on the route de Pierrefitte. The village is about 2.5 km away along the greenway (voie verte), the Gave de Cauterets flows 200 m away and the entrance to the Pyrenees National Park is 2 km away. The site occupies a former farm more than 400 years old, run by the same family, and the announced rating is 3 stars.
The unequipped pitches, marked out by hedges and at least 100 m², take tents, caravans and motorhomes, with two premium pitches of more than 180 m². The campsite also rents out a Campétoile, a tree-top cabin for two people, a mobile home for four and farm gîtes for 4 to 8 people. The washrooms are heated, with spacious showers and a cubicle adapted for people with reduced mobility.
A relaxation area with barbecues, a petanque court, a tennis court, a play area with a trampoline and a via ferrata with an Accro Kid course complete the picture. A free shuttle from the village stops 50 m from the entrance, every day during school holidays and only at weekends the rest of the year.
Opening period: this is a seasonal mountain campsite. The website announces opening from 10 July to 28 August 2026 and rental of the Campétoile from 6 July to 31 August. Mobile home rates end on 29 August and, for winter, the website simply asks you to contact the campsite. No winter opening is therefore announced.
The heated washrooms include spacious showers, towel dryers, hairdryers, a baby changing table and high chair, as well as a shower cubicle and toilets adapted for people with reduced mobility. The campsite provides a washing machine, a tumble dryer, drinking water points throughout the site, a TV room and freezer space at reception, charged at one euro per day. The lighting on the site is solar-powered, and food waste feeds the farm’s hens and ducks.
As for accommodation, the mobile home is equipped with a kitchen, a dishwasher, reversible air conditioning and a shelter for skis and bikes. The gîtes have a fitted kitchen, a large 200 m² terrace and heat-pump heating, with a wood stove in one of them. Pets are not accepted in the gîtes. There is no swimming pool: the free shuttle from the village takes you to the shops and restaurants of Cauterets.
On site, the tennis court lends rackets, as do the table tennis tables. There is also a petanque court, a play area with a trampoline and swings, and a via ferrata with Accro Kid and a zip line, for thrills at height near the waterfall. The campsite helps with preparing hikes, bivouacs and bike rides, and the greenway runs down to Lourdes.
From Cauterets, the big outings are many: the Pont d’Espagne and its waterfalls in the National Park, Lac de Gaube, the Cirque du Lys, the Marcadau valley with its lakes, the Fruitière valley and Lac d’Estom. The more athletic aim for the Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees, at 3,298 m. The Pic du Midi and the Cirque de Gavarnie, a World Heritage site, can be visited on an excursion. In winter, the website cites the Pont d’Espagne and the Cirque du Lys as ski areas, fifteen minutes from Cauterets.
Seasonal campsite: open from 10 July to 28 August 2026, Campétoile rental from 6 July to 31 August. Outside these dates, to be confirmed with the campsite.
