Ten campsites are listed in the Hérault, seven of them with verified off-season opening. Between the coast at Béziers and Agde, the Canal du Midi, the Hérault valley and the outskirts of Montpellier, it is one of the departments in the south where off-season welcome is best documented. Pools, however, close almost everywhere in winter.
In Sérignan, Le Mas des Lavandes presents itself as open all year round, with arrivals accepted until 10:30pm off-season; its restaurant and grocery shop only operate from April to September. In Bessan, Domaine Sainte Véziane, 4 stars, rents out mobile homes and chalets from January to December, but its water park only opens from 1 May to the end of September. In Colombiers, Les Peupliers announces a period from 5 January to 21 December 2026, with a heated washroom block in winter and the Canal du Midi 300 m away. In Creissan, the Complexe touristique du Soleil publishes an off-season rate from €50 a night for its gîtes, two nights minimum.
In Le Pouget, L’Affenage, a municipal site renovated in 2019, welcomes guests 365 days a year: pitches, four-season chalets and gîtes. In Montoulieu, the municipal campsite Le Grillon is open from 1 January to 31 December, with air-conditioned mobile homes; in winter, the pitches have a water hook-up and hot showers, and only the pool is seasonal, from 1 May to 15 September.
In Lattes, Le Floréal is announced as open from 1 January to 31 December for its pitches and mobile homes, with reduced reception hours in low season. Village Azur, in Saint-André-de-Sangonis, closes from October to April. In Bessan, Hortes Loisirs operates all year for year-round residents, with no nightly pitches, and Grualgues, a farm campsite near La Salvetat-sur-Agout, publishes no dates.
Check whether the opening applies to pitches or to rentals, the reception hours and the services that close in winter. On the coast, the restaurant and water park are often closed outside summer. Book by phone, especially for a work stay or a long duration.
From Bessan, Vias and Cap d’Agde are about ten minutes away, and you can explore between the Étang de Thau, the Canal du Midi and the vineyards. In Sérignan, the Blue Flag beach of Valras is about a fifteen-minute walk away; activities resume during the Easter and All Saints’ holidays, with a Halloween programme.
The Canal du Midi and its greenway attract cyclists at Colombiers and Creissan, both of which hold the Home Vélo label. In the Hérault valley, L’Affenage lies between the Gorges de l’Hérault and the Salagou with the Cirque de Mourèze; the village of Le Pouget has kept its circulade and its 17th-century dovecote. Around Montoulieu, the limestone landscape allows vultures to be observed.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
