Eight campsites are listed in the Gers, only two of them with verified off-season opening: Les Berges du Gers and Les Chalets des Mousquetaires. In this department of hills, bastides and Armagnac, winter accommodation almost always relies on chalets or mobile homes, rarely on bare pitches.
In Masseube, camping des Berges du Gers, 3 stars and Station Verte, rents its chalets, mobile homes and canvas lodges all year round; its pitches are only open from 1 April to 31 October. The website gives details of neither heating nor winter rates: ask at reception. The water park, with its slide, has no published opening dates. In Mirepoix, near Auch, Les Chalets des Mousquetaires welcomes guests every day of the year, from 8am to 10pm. Its eleven chalets and its wooden caravan are heated in winter, with nightly rates published until 31 December 2026; the pool only opens from 15 June to 15 September. A closure over the Christmas holidays has been reported: confirm it when booking.
In Plaisance, L’Arros rents its mobile homes and chalets all year round, but its bare pitches are only accessible from May to September. In Estang, Les Lacs de Courtès advertises 22 cottages open all year round, around a private lake, a heated pool and a kids’ club. This information is declared by the campsites and has not been verified. In Manciet, Sur le Chemin d’Escoubes offers five unusual accommodations (wooden caravan, wooden mill, trapper’s cabin) with no published calendar, and in Gondrin, Le Pardaillan, with its lagoon-style pool and kids’ club, does not publish its stay dates.
The municipal campsite Le Coucut, in Castelnau-d’Auzan-Labarrère, announces a season from 1 June to 30 September, with no winter welcome. Les Lacs d’Armagnac, in Bretagne-d’Armagnac, is a seasonal address, with an aqua park open from May to September.
Specify whether you are looking for a pitch or an accommodation: the dates differ. Check the heating in the chalets, the opening date of the pool and any end-of-year closures, then book by phone if the website publishes no winter rates.
For a stay in Masseube, markets are held on Tuesday and Saturday, waymarked trails start from the campsite, and the bastide, Auch and the abbeys of the Gers can be visited in any season. From the chalets in Mirepoix, an 8 km hike starts on site; Auch is fifteen minutes away.
The thermal baths of Lectoure and Castéra-Verduzan offer a wellness break when temperatures drop, and Armagnac estates can be visited. At Manciet, bikes can be rented to reach Eauze and Nogaro. Les Berges du Gers gives access on foot to the Île d’Ager, and Le Pardaillan, in Gondrin, is near the leisure park and a greenway. At Plaisance, the Arros allows canoeing from the campsite, and the village centre is about a hundred metres away.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
