Twenty-eight campsites are listed in Hauts-de-France, nine of them with a verified off-season opening. Only these nine are presented by this guide as open all year round; five others close for several months and fourteen remain to be confirmed with their owner. The region divides into three departments, the Nord, the Oise and the Somme, with very different profiles in the low season.
Four campsites in the Nord are verified. Near Lille, the Caravaning du Grand Sart keeps its heated washrooms open all year for caravans, vans and motorhomes, but no longer accepts tents until April 2027. Towards Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, the Domaine des Poteries also caters to spa guests. In the Avesnois, Le Fromentel rents by the month, by the year or by the week. On the coast, the PRL Hooghe Moote, in Ghyvelde, heats its mobile homes; its neighbour des Pins, by contrast, closes for several months.
This is the department with the most verified addresses in the region. L’Aigrette, La Trye, La Montagne, Les Araucarias and the Parc de la Garenne rent out accommodation with no annual break, between the Compiègne forest, the Oise valley and the Creil area. Do check the type of service offered, however: at Les Araucarias, the pitches close from November to March.
The eight campsites of the Somme have, for now, no confirmed off-season opening. Four close for several months; some announce year-round opening, to be validated by phone, and for others the off-season dates are missing.
In winter, favour solid accommodation, heating included and heated washrooms. Ask whether tent pitches, the pool or the snack bar are closed in winter, and compare rates per night, per week or per month. The pages for the Nord, the Oise and the Somme detail each address.
The region is well worth exploring in the off-season. Lille, Roubaix and Tournai can be visited from the Grand Sart; the La Piscine museum in Roubaix remains a destination for cold days. The Scarpe-Escaut regional nature park, the Mormal forest and the ramparts of Le Quesnoy offer walks, rainy days can be filled with the spa cure at Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and the museums of Lens and Lewarde, while on the Flemish coast Bray-Dunes, Bergues and Dunkirk are within reach from Ghyvelde.
In the Oise, the Compiègne forest, the châteaux of Compiègne, Pierrefonds and Coucy, Noyon cathedral and Ourscamp abbey can be combined in a single day. Chantilly and Senlis are within reach from Villers-Saint-Paul. The Baie de Somme, for its part, waits for spring for several of its campsites.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
