Off-season opening not confirmed: check the opening dates with the campsite before booking.
Camping Le Clos Vert is at 8 rue de la Berlière in Grand-Fayt, in the Nord department. It sits beside a pond, 500 metres from the river, in the heart of the Avesnois Regional Nature Park, a hedged countryside with plenty of forest walks. The site is small: the tourism pages that describe it speak of a few dozen pitches at most and do not all give the same number, so it is best to ask about availability directly.
It has a snack restaurant, a bar, fishing in the pond, a pétanque court, a barbecue area, a games room and a car park. Pets are accepted for an extra charge. Reception is in French, English and Spanish.
Opening period: the Avesnois tourist office states “open every day”, without giving opening or closing dates. Winter opening is therefore not explicitly confirmed: it is best to check with the campsite before booking, by phone on 03 27 59 45 50 or 06 42 19 52 32.
The snack restaurant and the bar let you eat and drink on site. The campsite also has a barbecue area, a car park and a games room with a table football and board games, handy on rainy days.
Pets are accepted for an extra charge. The available information mentions neither a pool nor accommodation rental in a consistent way: ask the campsite.
On site, the pond is open for fishing, and a pétanque court is available. The Avesnois Regional Nature Park offers many hiking trails through the forest and along the river around the campsite.
The chapels circuit in the Helpe valley, which passes through Cartignies, is among the walks suggested by the Avesnois tourist office.
