Eight campsites are listed in the Somme, in Picardy, and none of them has a verified off-season opening for now. This page therefore cannot present any of them as open all year round: it sets out what is announced, what closes and what to confirm before leaving in the low season.
Four campsites close for several months. The Camping de l’Éden, in Fort-Mahon-Plage, rents out its mobile homes from 4 April to 1 November, with an indoor pool, sauna, hammam and gym, a few minutes on foot from the beach. Le Bois Dormant, in Quend, runs on mobile homes with a season from April to November, a heated pool and a spa, 900 m from the beach. The municipal campsite Cavée Verte, in Ault, has 101 pitches, including 12 for motorhomes, with direct access to the beach. Les Prairies de la Mer, in Favières, also closes for several months, despite its heated pool with slide, its play area and its multisport court; only its reception is announced as open all year, with reduced hours.
In Lanchères, the municipal campsite Les Prairies says it is open all year, on more than 10 hectares and 180 pitches, with two play areas, a volleyball court and a petanque area. In Frise, La Pointe opens its pitches from March to November, and three rentals are announced as available all year. For the Domaine du Lieu Dieu, in Beauchamps, and La Pierre d’Orge, in Villers-sur-Authie, no off-season dates are known.
Call first to find out the exact dates and the type of service maintained in winter. Prefer solid accommodation to a tent, and ask whether heating is included.
The Baie de Somme is best explored outside the summer months: the beaches of Fort-Mahon and Quend, those of Le Crotoy, 3 km from Les Prairies de la Mer, and the coast at Ault, away from the busy resorts. In Villers-sur-Authie, La Pierre d’Orge has six fishing ponds, a kids club and basketball, tennis and petanque courts, 10 minutes from the beaches. At the Domaine du Lieu Dieu, the former Cistercian abbey of Beauchamps extends over almost 70 hectares, with canoeing, horse riding, tennis, minigolf, karting, balneotherapy, a jacuzzi and a hammam. In Fort-Mahon-Plage, Belle Dune adds golf, a casino and horse riding, and in Frise, La Pointe offers fishing on site, 200 m from a pond. These attractions can be enjoyed during each campsite’s opening months.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
