Twenty-eight campsites with an indoor pool are listed on the portal, of which 21 have verified off-season opening. The criterion is simple: a sheltered, most often heated pool, allowing swimming in any weather. It does not, however, guarantee a pool open in winter: at several campsites, the indoor pool follows the season, while the accommodation stays open all year.
A few campsites open all year keep their pool accessible in the low season. The Domaine de Longemer in Xonrupt-Longemer, 4 stars, 100 m from the lake, offers a heated indoor pool and a wellness area after a day of skiing or snowshoeing. At the Chalets du Lac in Belcaire, the indoor pool and wellness area stay open all year. At La Trye, in Bresles, the heated indoor pool opens in winter during school holidays, as does the one at Cercelles in Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron. In Le Grand-Bornand, L’Escale combines a heated indoor pool with a winter season from 5 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. At the Domaine de Langatte, the covered wellness centre, with heated pools, hammam and saunas, also welcomes guests all year, alongside the low-season chalets.
Elsewhere, the heated indoor pool opens mainly from April to October. The Camping de Salverte, in the Eure, welcomes pitches all year, with an indoor pool from 15 May to 15 September and a covered tennis court open continuously. Near Paris, Canada in Épône stays open all year, with two washroom blocks heated in winter and a heated indoor pool from April to the end of September. In the Vendée, Le Trèfle à 4 feuilles keeps its mobile homes open all year and Les Rulières opens its indoor pool from April to October. Les Charmes, in Apremont, opens it from the April holidays to the October holidays. Le Futuriste, opposite the Futuroscope, heats its pool to 30 °C until 1 November.
First ask for the opening dates of the pool, not only those of the campsite: the Domaine des Pins in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez closes its water area from November to Easter, despite rentals open all year. Then check the water temperature, access during school holidays and monthly booking in the low season. Three campsites with an indoor pool, L’Éden, Les Pins and Le Bois Dormant, close for several months, and four others declare an off-season opening that we have not confirmed.
Out of season, an indoor pool combines well with sauna, hammam and balneotherapy: this is the case at Longemer, at Belcaire, on Oléron, and at the Domaine de Langatte, whose covered wellness centre stays open all year. To enjoy the pool, favour school holidays, when La Trye and Les Cercelles open it in winter. Contact the campsite before leaving: the pool’s hours and opening periods often change between the season and winter.
Mountain campsites offer skiing and swimming on the same day: Risoul and Vars 20 minutes from Catinat Fleuri in Guillestre, skiing at Camurac from Belcaire, the Xonrupt ski area from Longemer. In the west, year-round opening makes it possible to visit the Marais poitevin or the island of Oléron away from the crowds, and to reach Poitiers and the Futuroscope from Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux.
For families, several star-rated campsites add water facilities: slides at Le Futuriste, paddling pool at Salverte, where a kids’ club for ages 5 to 12 runs in season. In the Vendée, in the Pays de la Loire, the Domaine des Pins is 1.2 km from the Parée Préneau beach, reached on foot or by bike.
