Normandy has 19 listed campsites, 5 of them with verified off-season opening: these are the only ones we present as open off-season. Two others are seasonal addresses, and twelve state an opening that we could not confirm. The Manche concentrates most of the offer (11 campsites, 4 of them verified), ahead of the Eure (5, including 1) and the Calvados (3, none verified).
The Manche offers the most choice off-season. The Camping municipal Les Mielles in Surtainville states continuous opening, with heating in both the washrooms and the rental accommodation. Further north, La Ferme du Bord de Mer in Gatteville-le-Phare and the motorhome area at Collignon, in Tourlaville, remain accessible in winter, while the Ferme de la Tournerie in Raids takes only a short break around Christmas. Two addresses are strictly seasonal: Le Village Vert in Tollevast and Les Garennes in Hauteville-sur-Mer.
Only one campsite in the Eure is verified: the Camping de Salverte in La Neuville-du-Bosc, whose pitches never close, unlike its mobile home rentals, which are open only from April to September. The other addresses in the Eure, in Brionne, Montfort-sur-Risle or Sainte-Opportune-la-Mare, announce extended opening periods that still need to be confirmed.
Ranville, Grandcamp-Maisy and Terres de Druance offer campsites close to the sea or deep in the countryside, but with no confirmed winter opening: the Ranville campsite takes tents only from 1 May to 30 September.
Depending on your plans, choose between the Manche coast, the Eure countryside or the Calvados coast. Then find out what really stays open: pitches, rental accommodation, motorhome area. Have the winter dates and the heating confirmed in writing before you book.
The GR223 runs along the Cotentin coast, from the dunes of Surtainville to the shoreline of the Val de Saire. Collignon, in Tourlaville, is less than 4 km from the Cité de la Mer and the Ravalet château.
In the Eure, outings near Salverte include the châteaux of Harcourt and Champ de Bataille and the abbey of Le Bec-Hellouin; further north, the Marais Vernier borders the Boucles de la Seine Normande regional nature park. In the Calvados, the D-Day beaches route passes through Ranville, the first village liberated in 1944.
The farm campsites also offer concrete activities: in Raids, an afternoon snack at the farm during the October school holidays and bread on Saturday mornings from April; in Terres de Druance, wood-fired bread workshops and sales of ciders, juices and jams.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
