Les Étangs du Parc, or Centre de loisirs du parc de Garennes, is a 50-hectare landscaped residential estate in Garennes-sur-Eure, in the Eure, on the D836 road. The park is less than 80 km from Paris, at the gateway to Normandy, in the Eure valley. It is arranged around five lakes.
This is not a touring campsite: the estate has 287 pitches of 200 to 450 m², separated by conifer hedges, where residents’ mobile homes are installed. Each plot has individual water, gas and electricity connections, with meters, and a mains sewer connection. The park is entirely enclosed by 3.5 km of fencing, and entrances are controlled by magnetic badges. Plots are rented by the year, with rates announced from about €2,000 a year depending on the area.
The website points out that access to the campsite and all its facilities is strictly reserved for residents, who come for their weekends and holidays.
Opening period: the reception office keeps winter hours (15 November to 14 March, 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm) and summer hours (15 March to 14 November, 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm). The park offers neither rentals nor pitches for holidaymakers passing through: for a tourist stay, you must first contact 02 32 36 85 30.
The services described by the website are those of a residents’ estate: reception, laundry, play area, swimming and a landscaped beach with pedalos in fine weather. The park has three quick-surface tennis courts, two of them floodlit, three mini-courts for children, a multisport pitch and sixteen pétanque courts. All these facilities are reserved for residents, and no restaurant or shop is mentioned on the estate.
Residents have five lakes where they can fish for trout, carp, pike, zander and perch, and try windsurfing or stand-up paddleboarding. Cycling is possible, with direct access to the cycle path at the park exit. In the surrounding area, the website mentions the Parc de Nantilly golf course, the Château d’Anet, the Royal Chapel of Saint-Louis, the wind instrument museum in La Couture-Boussey, the Au fil du rail miniature railway in Pacy-sur-Eure, the Ézy-sur-Eure water sports centre and canoeing at Ivry-la-Bataille.
Residential park reserved for its residents; admission of holidaymakers passing through not planned: to be checked with the park (02 32 36 85 30).
