Everything about the campsites open all year round in Calvados

Three campsites are listed in the Calvados, in Normandy, between the Norman bocage and the D-Day beaches. None has a verified off-season opening for now: the information available does not allow us to present them as open in winter, and their dates must be confirmed with each establishment before planning a stay.

On the D-Day coast

In Ranville, the first village liberated in France in 1944, the camping des Capucines is 200 m from the D-Day beaches route. Its tent pitches are open from 1 May to 30 September only; it also has 14 asphalt pitches for motorhomes, with electric hook-ups, whose off-season reception dates must be requested. In Grandcamp-Maisy, La Ferme du Colombier, a 2-star campsite with 81 pitches in Normandy, is 800 m from the sea and has a pool and a bar-restaurant.

On the farm, in the bocage

In Terres de Druance, La Ferme d’Escures offers gîtes and farm camping, with wood-fired bread-making workshops and farm products: ciders, juices, jams. Its opening periods are not confirmed.

Choosing your campsite in the Calvados in the off-season

For a camping stay in the Calvados, ask each campsite which periods remain open, whether the washrooms are heated and whether rentals are available. For a spring or autumn holiday in Normandy, book in advance and have the dates confirmed in writing.

What to see and do in Calvados

For an off-season holiday in Normandy, the Calvados can be visited outside the summer. In Ranville, the D-Day beaches route passes 200 m from the camping des Capucines, in the first village liberated in 1944. On the coast, Grandcamp-Maisy can be reached from La Ferme du Colombier, 800 m from the sea.

In the bocage, La Ferme d’Escures hosts wood-fired bread-making workshops and sells farm products, including ciders and juices, every Friday in Saint-Jean-le-Blanc. To be confirmed depending on the period.

our method

How we select the campsites in this localisation

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
