Sixteen campsites are listed in Haute-Savoie, eleven of them with verified off-season opening. They are spread across the Chamonix valley, the Giffre, the Aravis, the Bauges and the surroundings of Annecy and Geneva. Depending on the campsite, “open all year” can mean pitches, caravaneige or only chalets: the detail matters.
The camping caravaneige Le Giffre in Samoëns is open all year round, with heated washrooms and access to the Grand Massif (265 km of slopes). In Verchaix, the camping municipal Lac et Montagne is open all year round and offers a free shuttle to the Grand Massif. In Sallanches, Le Relais de Vallée Blanche clears its site of snow and heats its washrooms, facing Mont Blanc; tents are accepted there only in summer. In Le Grand-Bornand, L’Escale welcomes guests from 5 December 2026 to 31 March 2027, with an 80 m² heated indoor pool, and some apartments are open all year round. In Chamonix, Les Deux Glaciers is open from 15 December to 1 November.
Several campsites close their pitches but keep their chalets open: Les Cîmes in Chamonix, Bornand in Demi-Quartier near Megève, the aire naturelle du Val de Tamié in Faverges-Seythenex, La Caille in La Balme-de-Sillingy, near Annecy, and the Village Mont-Blanc L’Écureuil in Passy, open all year round with heated chalets.
Le Relais du Léman in Messery, near Lake Geneva, with its heated pool and ski resorts 35 minutes away, Le Trejeux in Thônes, La Corbaz in Cluses and Le Lac à Jojo in Orcier have not confirmed off-season opening; La Chapelle Saint-Claude, in Talloires-Montmin, is a seasonal address.
Check the exact winter dates, snow clearing, the heating of washrooms and chalets, and the shuttle to the slopes. Book early for the school holidays. Finally, ask whether the campsite is served by public transport: in Neydens, a bus to Geneva leaves 800 m away, and in Chamonix the SNCF station is 700 m from Les Cîmes.
From Samoëns and Verchaix, the Grand Massif ski area extends over 265 km of slopes; you can also go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and dog sledding there. Around Sallanches, Cordon, Combloux, Megève and Chamonix are less than 25 km away, and the market takes place on Saturday mornings. In Passy, the Saint-Gervais thermal baths are 8 km away and the Sallanches aquatic centre 300 m. The ski slopes are 3 km from Les Deux Glaciers and 4 km from Les Cîmes, two campsites in Les Bossons, beneath Mont Blanc, and the valley’s ski lifts can be reached by bus or train. In Chamonix, regional trains are free with the guest card. On the Bauges side, you can go snowshoeing and reach the rail sled run of La Sambuy; Lake Annecy is 20 minutes away, and Yvoire and the shores of Lake Geneva remain accessible from Messery. In Faverges-Seythenex, the chalets of the aire naturelle can be rented for 2 to 10 people.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
