Camping Bornand is in Demi-Quartier, in the commune of Megève, at the foot of Mont Blanc. The village centre is about 3 km away, Combloux 2 km, Sallanches 8 km and Chamonix 30 km; Geneva is 70 km away via the A40 motorway. The site is grassy, with open views of the mountains, and remains modest in size: 51 unserviced pitches and four individual chalets.
The pitches accommodate tents, caravans and motorhomes. The chalets, in Savoyard style, measure 35 m² and sleep two to four people; they are new, with a terrace and a private parking space, but pets and smokers are not allowed. A fully electric tuk-tuk takes campers free of charge to the shops and sights of Megève and Combloux.
Opening follows two rhythms. The pitches and reception operate in summer: for 2026, from 12 June to 6 September according to the campsite’s website, and from 15 June to 6 September according to the tourist office. The chalets, on the other hand, are listed as open all year round by the Megève and Combloux tourist offices, and the campsite’s website invites guests to rent them in winter. The rates published on the website, however, cover only the months of May to October: winter terms must be requested directly from the campsite.
Off-season, the address is therefore aimed mainly at families or skiers who prefer a stand-alone chalet to a rental in the resort.
Skiing in Megève (ski area, direct access to the slopes noted by the tourist office); Chamonix and the Mer de Glace 30 km away.
During the opening season, a reception chalet welcomes guests every day from 7:30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 8:30pm. The campsite offers wifi, comfortable washrooms with hot showers included in the price, washrooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, a loan electrical adapter and a waste-disposal point for motorhomes. A baby cot and a high chair are available, and children have a slide, a table tennis table and a table football.
Supplies are available on site, with bread and ice to keep things cool. A pizza maker sets up every evening except Sunday and Monday, about 200 metres from the campsite, and a supermarket is 1 km away. There is no swimming pool at the campsite: the water facilities in Megève, 3 km away, include a swimming pool and a water slide.
The chalets are laid out for four people: living room with sofa and flat-screen television, equipped kitchen (electric hobs, microwave with grill, fridge, dishwasher, extractor hood, kettle, coffee maker), two bedrooms, bathroom with shower and separate toilet. Blankets are provided, but sheets and pillowcases are not; the loan of bed linen and towels costs €50 per week. On pitches, dogs are allowed for €1 per day.
The campsite serves as a base for exploring the Mont Blanc region. At 3 km, Megève has a swimming pool, a water slide, an ice rink, a climbing wall, tennis, golf, paragliding, summer toboggan, gondolas and chairlifts, as well as plane or helicopter flights over Mont Blanc. Combloux, 2 km away, is known for its natural biotope swimming pond, unique in France, and for its farm teas and events.
At 8 km, the area around Sallanches offers natural lakes, a beach, windsurfing, rafting, canyoning and fishing. At 30 km, Chamonix opens onto the high mountains: the Mer de Glace, the Montenvers rack railway, the Aiguille du Midi cable car, mountaineering and climbing. The campsite’s website also mentions mountain walks and mountain biking.
In winter, the campsite points guests to the resort of Megève: ski area, snow conditions and webcams are detailed on its website, and the tourist office notes direct access to the slopes for chalet guests.
Chalets open all year round; pitches from 12 June to 6 September 2026.
