Domaine de la Caille is in La Balme-de-Sillingy, in Haute-Savoie, on Chemin de la Caille, about 15 km from Annecy. Set at an altitude of 510 m, 2 km from the village and 5 km from a lake, it occupies a 25,000 m² site in the heart of the countryside, between Lake Annecy and the Geneva basin. Geneva airport is about an hour away by road, and Annecy castle about twenty minutes.
The estate combines several types of accommodation: a hotel with four double rooms plus one room for guests with reduced mobility, chalets for two or four people, mobile homes sleeping four, and a campsite with spacious, tree-shaded pitches, including three spaces reserved for motorhomes. Group rates apply from six people.
As for opening, the rule is clear: the rooms, chalets and mobile homes operate all year round, and since 2025 a chalet or mobile home can be rented from just three nights, while the camping area is open from 1 May to 30 September. The estate also welcomes business guests and groups on request. The breakfast, made with local produce, is praised by several guests.
The estate’s restaurant closed in 2023; the team recommends nearby places to eat.
About ten minutes away: hiking trails, local museums, cafés and restaurants; Annecy and its old town about 15 km away.
The estate has a swimming pool with a section for the youngest children, a petanque court, a football pitch, table tennis tables and a tennis court. A large play area with bouncy castles keeps children busy; a “treasure drawer” corner with colouring sheets and games, described by guests, is also set aside for them. The pool’s opening dates are not published, so it is best to ask before an off-season stay.
On the campsite side, the pitches have electrical hook-ups, and wifi and a laundry with a dryer complete the facilities. Motorhomes have a service area for emptying grey and black water. Pets are accepted for an extra charge.
The accommodation is fully equipped: the four-person mobile homes have two bedrooms (one double bed, two single beds), a kitchen, a living room, a shower room and a covered terrace; the hotel provides a television, a hairdryer and a baby cot on request. The staff speak French and English. There has been no restaurant since 2023, so for rental stays it is wise to plan on buying groceries or eating in town.
On the estate itself, leisure options stay simple: swimming, petanque, football, table tennis, tennis and children’s games, mostly geared to the warmer months. Families often mention the pool, described as very pleasant, and the attentive welcome from the staff. Guests also appreciate the peaceful setting and the welcome, with a nearby lake for walks, equipped with play equipment and a fitness trail.
The estate is a good base for exploring the surroundings, about ten minutes away: hiking trails, local museums, cafés and restaurants. La Balme-de-Sillingy is well placed between Lake Annecy and the Geneva basin, making it easy to reach the old town of Annecy and its castle, about twenty minutes by car, or Geneva.
Off-season, a stay revolves around these outings: walks in the Savoyard countryside, cultural visits and food stops, as the accommodation is open all year round. The estate announces no organised entertainment; for specific activities, the team advises getting in touch with them.
