Ten campsites are listed in the Drôme, but only two have verified off-season opening. Four are seasonal addresses and four have not confirmed off-season opening. The département therefore remains a destination that needs planning, especially for a winter stay.
In La Coucourde, near Montélimar, the Floral Camping, 2 stars, is open all year round, with reception from 11am to 7pm every day. It welcomes workers at a monthly rate and serves homemade pizzas from Thursday to Sunday. It is 3.9 km from exit 17 of the A7. In Bouchet, in the Drôme provençale, the Bois des Roches, a 4-star site beside a river, does not close either: its pool with slide opens only from 15 April to the end of September and its restaurant from 15 May to the end of September.
L’Île Blanc in Ancône, La Pierre à Feu in Aouste-sur-Sye, L’Ermitage du Grand Bois in Le Poët-Célard and the Bois de Madelie in Mévouillon (motorhome area) have not confirmed off-season opening. Contact them before booking.
The camping municipal Les Biaux in Séderon, Le Moulin in Pradelle, Les 4 Saisons in Grane and Les Bords de Lyonne in Saint-Jean-en-Royans, in the Vercors, are to be booked in spring, summer or autumn, never for a winter stay without confirmation.
Check the opening dates of the pool and restaurant, the reception in winter and the monthly rates if you are staying a long time. Ask whether the mobile homes are heated or air-conditioned: at the Bois des Roches, they are air-conditioned and can be booked from two nights. Finally, confirm by phone any opening stated without a precise date, especially for isolated mountain or riverside campsites. A written reply from the manager with the exact dates avoids unpleasant surprises on arrival.
From Bouchet, the Drôme provençale can be visited in every season: Grignan, Suze-la-Rousse and Vaison-la-Romaine, with hiking and river fishing very close to the campsite. From La Coucourde, you can follow the Drôme cycling routes, including the ViaRhôna, and reach Montélimar for markets and outings. The Bois de Madelie, in Mévouillon, is a starting point for hikes in the Baronnies provençales. In Le Poët-Célard, L’Ermitage du Grand Bois offers a cycle stop and hiking guidance; in Ancône, L’Île Blanc has a private lake. The Floral Camping also offers washrooms adapted for people with reduced mobility and a waste disposal point, useful off-season, particularly for touring motorhomes. Saint-Jean-en-Royans, for its part, opens onto the Vercors regional nature park for hiking, mountain biking and climbing.
Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.
We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.
You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
