Village Mont-Blanc L’Écureuil is on the Route de l’Arve in Passy, in Haute-Savoie. It covers 6.5 hectares around a small lake, facing the Mont Blanc massif, the Aiguilles de Warens and the Quatre Têtes. The centre of Sallanches is 2 km away, Lake Passy 800 m and the ski resorts about 15 minutes. The site has 135 pitches of 150 to 200 m² and 14 chalets in four types.
These types are the comfort chalets (35 m², sleeping 4 to 6), the standard chalets (35 m², sleeping 3 to 5), chalets without washrooms of 18 m² for 2 or 3 people, and an 18 m² tiny house for 2 to 4 people. The campsite specifies that it offers neither long stays on pitches nor year-round rentals.
The site announces that it is open all year round. The comfort and standard chalets are insulated and heated: they are rented for short stays outside July and August, and the standard chalets are offered by the month in the winter period. The heated, insulated tiny house suits winter as well as summer. Reception is open from Monday to Friday in low season (15 September to 14 June), with a late-arrival procedure for handing over keys.
This setting appeals to holidaymakers looking for peace and quiet, to skiers and to walkers who want to explore between Megève, Chamonix, Saint-Gervais and Annecy.
Skiing 15 km away (Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area), Saint-Gervais thermal baths 8 km away, Sallanches aquatic centre 300 m away, cinema 2.5 km away.
Three washroom blocks serve the pitches, with showers, toilets, dishwashing areas and laundry sinks; an adapted area is provided for guests with reduced mobility, and all pitches are level. A Flot Bleu service point is available for motorhome owners, and a laundry has washing machines and tumble dryers. A bread and pastry pick-up point operates in July and August only.
The campsite has a restaurant serving home cooking based on fresh produce, with a 200 m² terrace open to Mont Blanc. Its menu is presented as available all year round, but the site states that it stays closed throughout the summer season. For any enquiry, it has its own contact.
The chalets have a fitted kitchen (fridge, microwave, hobs, coffee maker), a living room with sofa bed, a 13 m² terrace and a parking space. Sheets and towels are not provided but can be hired; a baby cot, a high chair and a barbecue are lent subject to availability. Pets are accepted for a daily supplement. The campsite has no swimming pool announced: the Sallanches aquatic centre is 300 m away.
For leisure, the site has mini-golf, table tennis, a beach volleyball court, a pétanque area, an outdoor play area and a kids’ club, where parents remain responsible for their little ones. No entertainment team is employed: the day is organised around outings in the valley.
At 800 m, Lake Passy offers swimming, paddleboarding and pedalos, and a treetop adventure course is at the same spot. Rafting is available 5 km away, climbing 8 km, paragliding at Plaine Joux 15 km away and hiking from 15 km. In summer, a free shuttle runs to the centre of Sallanches and the Lac des Îlettes.
Off-season, the resorts of the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area are 15 km away, and Chamonix, Saint-Gervais, Les Contamines, Combloux and Megève can be reached in 15 to 20 minutes. The Saint-Gervais thermal baths are 8 km away, the Sallanches aquatic centre 300 m and the cinema 2.5 km. Geneva and Annecy are less than an hour’s drive away.
Open all year round; comfort chalets, standard chalets and tiny house heated and rented all year.
