Saint James les Pins campsite is located in Guillestre, in the Hautes-Alpes, at the gateway to the Queyras and Écrins nature parks. Rated 3 stars, it mainly welcomes families, in a setting of pine trees, with a natural swimming pond and a welcome for groups of hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists. It is guarded day and night.
The pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes are marked out, shaded and about 90 m². For rentals, the campsite offers mobile homes for 2, 4 or 6 people, chalets for 4 to 6 people, some of them 300 m from reception, and a group chalet with a capacity of 15 people. Pets are accepted on pitches, but not in the rental accommodation. Equipped washrooms allow the campsite to welcome guests with reduced mobility, and the site is a VACAF partner.
Opening period: the site states that the campsite is closed in October and November; the closure dates found run from 1 October to 17 December 2026. It therefore stays closed for more than two months in autumn. No winter offer or price is published: whether holidaymakers are welcome in winter, after the December reopening, needs to be confirmed with the campsite on 04 92 45 08 24.
The natural swimming pond, reserved for guests, is 200 m from reception: an 8 m by 25 m pool, at most 1.50 m deep, with landscaped beaches and water between 19 and 21 degrees. There is no lifeguard, and minors must be accompanied. In season, from 1 July to 19 August, the lounge bar and the restaurant L’Instant Saint James serve fish, meat and salads from 5pm, and a grocery shop operates from 1 July to 25 August. Bread and pastries can be ordered. The campsite also provides a washing machine, a TV room, a library, board games, camping gas and a shared barbecue. Reception is open from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 7pm in summer.
On site, the playground has swings, a slide, a table football, a table tennis table and a multisport platform, and a petanque court is located by the river. Around the campsite, the Eygliers lake, 3 km away, is a leisure area with a small lake open for fishing all year round, and Lac de Serre-Ponçon is 18 km away. The region is well suited to mountain biking, hiking, climbing, horse riding, rafting, paragliding and mountaineering, with the Fort de Mont-Dauphin and the Château Queyras to visit.
Closed from 1 October to 17 December 2026 according to the dates found (the site’s FAQ states October and November); winter opening for holidaymakers to be confirmed with the campsite.
