Le Bois de Madélie is at the Clos de Bruis, 2 route de Pelleret, in Mévouillon (26560), in the Drôme. The site occupies about three hectares of woodland, at some 850 metres altitude, at the foot of the Mévouillon fort and in the heart of the Baronnies provençales regional nature park. It is a setting of pines and lavender, with peaks as a backdrop.
Capacity remains modest: six pitches, six unequipped transit pitches and six motorhome spaces. A dormitory and a caravan can also be rented, and a communal room serves as a meeting and social space. The site welcomes bikers, cyclists, hikers and horse riders.
Opening period: the Drôme Tourisme page and a guide specialising in motorhome areas list it as open from 1 January to 31 December. Other publications suggest continuous opening from April to November instead, with winter welcome on request. Winter opening is therefore not clearly established: to be confirmed with the campsite on 06 64 02 42 63 before coming off-season.
The listed services are simple: washrooms with hot showers, wifi access, laundry and bike rental. Motorhomes have a service offer including electricity, water and emptying of grey water and chemical toilets, with a flat rate listed at €5 in 2024.
No swimming pool or catering is mentioned on site. The nearest pool is reported to be about seven kilometres away.
The surrounding area is suited to hiking, cycling and mountain biking. Paragliding schools are about two kilometres away, and there are also climbing sites, horse riding and a zip line in the area.
A via ferrata is listed about thirty kilometres away and thermal baths about fifteen kilometres away.
