Off-season opening not confirmed: check the opening dates with the campsite before booking.
L’Île Blanc campsite is located on the Chemin de l’Île Blanc, in Ancône, a commune in the Drôme a few minutes from Montélimar, the capital of nougat. It sits on the border between the Drôme provençale and the southern Ardèche, making it easy to explore both départements.
The site offers pitches for small and large tents, caravans and motorhomes, spread over two meadows shaded by tall trees, as well as equipped mobile homes for rent. According to the Drôme provençale tourist office, there are 13 mobile homes; other camping websites mention 21 accommodation units of this type, so the figure needs to be confirmed. A private lake is part of the grounds, alongside a pool and a paddling pool.
Opening period: the sources do not agree. The Drôme provençale tourist office announces opening from 1 February to 1 December, meaning about two months of winter closure; another website mentions 4 January to 31 December. The official website publishes no dates, and its 2026 rates are offered as a PDF file. Winter opening is therefore not established: for a stay between December and February, it is best to call the campsite before booking.
The campsite provides three washroom blocks and wifi on the pitches. A restaurant and a bar with a covered terrace operate mainly in season, with evening entertainment in summer, between 9pm and 1am. The pool and its paddling pool for children are for summer use. Free parking is provided for visitors at the campsite entrance.
The site rules state arrivals from 10am to 7pm, departures from 9am to 12 noon and quiet periods from 2pm to 4pm and from 1am to 9am. Off-season services are not detailed: they need to be requested from the campsite.
On site, the private lake allows swimming, fishing and, according to the tourist office, canoe and kayak hire. The campsite also has a petanque court, a tennis court, table tennis and free games for children, with a play area open from 10am to 5pm.
Around the campsite, the website mentions cycle touring, hiking, slacklining and trips to the nearby Ardèche. Montélimar, a few kilometres away, offers markets and visits to its nougat makers.
Dates not confirmed: from 1 February to 1 December according to the Drôme provençale tourist office (another website: from 4 January to 31 December). To be confirmed with the campsite.
