Seasonal campsite: our checks show it closes for several months a year. Check the opening dates before booking.
Les Bords de Lyonne campsite covers 1.6 hectares in Saint-Jean-en-Royans, in the Drôme, in the heart of the Vercors Regional Nature Park. Valence is about 45 minutes away, and the site is reached via the A49 motorway, exits 8 or 9 depending on whether you are coming from Valence or Grenoble. The Lyonne river runs alongside the site, with the Vercors mountains in the background.
The site has 59 marked-out, more or less shaded pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, most with an optional 10-amp electrical hook-up. Two types of 30 m² wooden chalets sleep 4 to 6 people, including a model adapted for people with reduced mobility, with a covered terrace. The campsite is part of the Onlycamp network and applies the same package as its other sites. Arrivals are from 3:30pm and departures are until 11am; a site plan is published on the website so you can choose your pitch.
Opening period: this is a seasonal campsite, announced from 3 April to 1 November 2026 for all accommodation. It is therefore closed from November to early April: you cannot stay there in the middle of winter. For a stay close to these dates, the safest option is to call 07 67 55 60 98.
The facilities remain simple. The washroom block has hot showers, toilets, washbasins, a dishwashing area, a baby area and an area adapted for people with reduced mobility. A motorhome waste disposal and water filling point is located outside the campsite. The laundry is available on site, as are facilities for toddlers. No wifi is offered.
Reception provides information on outings in the area. A shared barbecue is available, and a snack bar near the petanque court has picnic tables. Dogs are accepted on a lead, with an up-to-date vaccination record. There is no swimming pool or water park: swimming is done elsewhere in the region, with spots to be found by asking at reception or the tourist office.
The 2026 pitch package is 12 euros before 1 July and after 31 August, and 17 euros in July and August, for two people, one pitch and one piece of equipment. Guests choose their own pitch. Accepted payment methods are bank card and holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances).
On site there is a children’s play area, a petanque court, a volleyball court and a table tennis table. Fishing is possible in the Lyonne, as long as you bring your own rod. The calm of the river is ideal for lazing about and reading in the shade, and the snack bar next to the petanque court lets you extend the game around a picnic table. No organised entertainment is announced: the stay relies instead on free-access games and on outings in the mountains.
Around the campsite, the Vercors offers hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding. The Combe Laval, a road cut into the cliff face with eleven tunnels, is about ten kilometres away. Pont-en-Royans, with its houses hanging over the river, is 11 km away, and Beauvoir-en-Royans, with its medieval site and the Carmelite convent, a few minutes. The website also mentions the Bourne gorges, postman Cheval’s Palais idéal, the caves, the via ferrata and Vassieux-en-Vercors; reception advises on outings in the area, for all ages.
Seasonal campsite: open from 3 April to 1 November 2026 (pitches and chalets), closed in winter.
