Everything about the campsites open all year round in Charente-Maritime

Nine campsites are listed in the Charente-Maritime, three of them with verified off-season opening: only these are presented as open all year, one of them for its motorhome area only. They are concentrated on the Île d’Oléron and around La Rochelle, with a few addresses towards Marennes, Rochefort and the Saintonge.

Oléron off-season

In Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, Les Cercelles, a 3-star site with 87 pitches, is open from 1 January to 31 December. A wood-fired boiler heats the washrooms, the water and the pool; the indoor pool is accessible during the winter school holidays, and a spa area offers an infrared sauna, hammam and massages. The Kokoon bungalows are rented all year on a hotel-style basis, but the restaurant is open only from 1 April to 30 September. In Boyardville, Le Dauphin, rated 2 stars and set among maritime pines, is seasonal: open from 21 March to 6 November in 2026. Only its 40-space motorhome service area stays open all year, with water, electricity and waste disposal, at a flat winter rate. The cottage residence Les Hameaux des Marines, in Saint-Denis-d’Oléron, announces an opening on 6 February 2026 without publishing its end-of-year closure.

At the gates of La Rochelle

In L’Houmeau, less than 5 km from La Rochelle, Au Petit Port, rated 4 stars, never closes. Its mobile homes of 17 to 40 m² have electric heating in every room, and the site rents them by the month, from September to April, to students and business travellers, with no minimum stay. The heated pool is open only from April to the end of September, and access to the washrooms in winter is still to be confirmed.

Partial openings and openings to be confirmed

The Lagon de la Prée, in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Prée near Rochefort, says it is open except in December and January; its heated indoor pool operates from 1 April to the end of the All Saints holidays. Le Lizot en Saintonge opens its bare pitches only from 15 May to 15 September. Le Domaine Les Pins in Marennes and Le Moulin de la Pierre in Saint-Vivien, both with mobile homes, say they are open all year, without confirmation; La Doucelière, a small campsite with 30 pitches in Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, publishes no dates. Call each one before booking.

Choosing a campsite open all year round in the Charente-Maritime

Ask which services stay open in January: pool, restaurant, reception, which at Les Cercelles is open only from 9am to 1pm on weekdays off-season. Check whether the accommodation is heated and, for a long stay, the weekly or monthly rates.

What to see and do in Charente-Maritime

From Les Cercelles, the Île d’Oléron can be explored off-season: the Île d’Oléron museum, the Maison éco-paysanne in Grand-Village-Plage, the Brée windmill, the La Cotinière fish auction hall and the Cité de l’huître in Marennes, the largest oyster-ripening marsh in Europe. From the Dauphin motorhome area, cycle paths, salt marshes, the Fort Royer oyster-farming site and shore fishing at low tide follow one another without crowds, and the Chassiron lighthouse is not far.

From Au Petit Port, La Rochelle is twenty minutes away, with its aquarium, museums, Vieux Port and central market. You can cycle to both the city and the Île de Ré, with more than 100 km of cycle paths, the Baleines lighthouse and the fortifications of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. our method

How we select the campsites in this localisation

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every open all year round campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.
